What happened to only getting drops for your class/spec? Did horseman fight every day since it started and finally got a weapon after about 4 yrs of being active during Halloween and got the agi sword on my pld...

Also, got a bop leather from a world rare spawn.

figures lol, I don't really know shit about monk but from what I understand dual wield is far, far ahead of 2hand

as a general rule, though, and it's almost always true for dk-- just look at which ones are higher ilvl and run with it


i.e. for us, if you have higher ilvl 1handers you run dual wield frost, if you have higher ilvl 2h you run unholy (uh never dw's) or 2h frost

For this event there is no str weapon. Just exclusively the agi sword and plate str hat.

The "drops for class/spec" is applicable to Level 90 outdoor bosses and LFR.

I got an AGI ring last year, I was pissed that I couldn't do shit with it - couldn't sell it to a vendor and I couldn't disenchant it. What a waste. At least let me shard the shit.

Any DK tanks here clock themselves? I'm rotated to DPS. Our main tank, a DK ... 32 death strikes in an 8.5 minute fight seems awfully wrong.

I haven't clocked mine but I'm sure I dump out 8~ per minute minimum, factoring in when the rune tetris favours me.

He's not timing it either, in case anyone was wondering: 115 heart strikes lol

What fight? He's pretty clearly fucking up with 115 heart strikes, but how far off the death strikes are is hard to judge without knowing. For example Feng and Wind lord are fights where I'm doing shit other than death striking the vast majority of the fight, and both are still about 50 death strikes per 8 minutes.

Thing is after the first couple weeks of being undergeared there's basically nothing demanding truly maxed out DSing now, though.

This group is kind of odd in that they don't listen to anyone but the raid leader haha. I keep dropping hints to let me tank instead but they don't seem to get it, despite me single handedly tanking DS heroic for 5 bosses (at 10% nerf I think) because Paladin's basically sucked (and the fights favoured DK ... sort of)

They're absolute pussies, though. Is he really overwhelming the healers by not ds'ing? It's definitely not a fight that demands intense ds management.

Healers were fine. I just felt if he upped his DPS by 15k by DSing we would win more easily, or if I tanked. You're right they're pussies, with the exception of the first boss where if you move to get out of flanking orders that's the only danger bit I feel.

I'm beginning to feel/build up a list of requirements for raiding, I feel people lack my confidence/finesse/fun

- YOU MUST COMMUNICATE VIA VOICE, REGULARLY, especially if tank. Currently in 2 tank fights the raid leader's gf is tanking, but he does all of her communication lol. We rarely hear her speak. And the DK tank seems to just point out the obvious
- Gotta have fun ; subjective, but as we're not 6/6 first day and will probably be 6/6 in another 3 weeks time, there's room and space for fun in comparison to the more hardcore/serious groups
- Watching videos isn't the end all way to learn. I read the tacs on icy veins and had it all down but they were shocked I didn't go watch a video (besides, I done it in LFR already)
- Because the first king was so much like Warmaster Blackhorn, I brought up his soundboard and played HOW'S THIS everytime he uses Annihilation, and played his HAH I WAS HOPING YOU'D MAKE IT THIS FAR sounds per pull via Team Speak --> I got told to concentrate
- Because I'm DPSing I'm basically bored, so I had time to do other things. This includes gloating/making fun of people who die to obvious things. Actually I notice this promotes some sort of competition. I have a friendly rivalry with 3 of the other DPS haha, but as I instigate most of the fun talk I think I'm being blamed for everyone's lack of concentration

On paper I might sound like an absolute prick as a candidate for raiding but as I got everything down already and we're still wiping I think I'm entitled to do some of the funner things.

Anyways, I'mma stop raiding soon as I'm taking up some projects at work which requires more hours. So this will probably be my last whine.

Another random question, but does anyone use the addon "Soundtrack" ? basically lets you inject/replace music in WoW.

As I've littered mine with various FF battle musics and musics from other games, it actually serves as a method to make me play more "happier" ... or less "bored" .... current instance/dungeon/raid music is stuff from Sonic Generations lol (Stardust Speedway, the remix). Dalaran (hearthpoint) is Bastok/Sandy/Windy music (it rotates)

I wonder if people are just flatout dulled by the silence of instances. I know some others would have music from external sources, but the way I set it up is that I still hear sound effects, voices and such, but only the music is replaced.

For Stone Guard? That felt really slow to me, I was top DPS at 64k tanking the two dogs, I feel our rogue at the very least(blade flurry up in this bitch) should have been ahead of me, but she wasn't. I'm not geared too much better than you are I would assume, for reference, this is my DK. Check out them sweet ass glyphs, they just all seem so useless for blood that I haven't bothered to pick any up. I'm really only tanking until our regular main tank is back from Sandy's fallout.

As for the rest of it, I agree with a lot of it. We're only 2/6 right now on our second week. I don't mind being behind, though I may try and find a weekend raid guild for my death knight once I can get back on my monk, really I should be tanking on her since she's in 372 gear and all I would need to do is reforge/regem/enchant, no need to even get new gear for it. I absolutely hate people who won't/can't speak on vent, especially during progression, I'll cut some slack to DPS, but really all healers and tanks should be able to openly, and quickly communicate.

3/4 healers can't communicate. They're on TS though. Just don't speak, at all. They type. The one that does communicate talks a lot, but most of it is unfun and/or just blurting out the obvious/raid warnings, i.e. X and Y should be together for Stone Guard (when most of the time it's already correct, but his add on just gives him scheduled warnings I guess)
The current Dk tanks does communicate, but seems to only point out the obvious
Me, raid leader, a gay guy which I muted (he makes a lot of noise/know it all chatter that just annoys me ; it seems one of those types that are eager to prove they're gay, with stuff like "you know i'm gay, right?" - in a gay voice), and a WAR chat freely

And oops. I read Spirit Kings, not stone guard. My bad. If you were tanking both kitties then I suppose 64k is surprising considering the tank gear, but I underestimated vengenace this time I suppose. You could probably breach 100k in DPS gear lol

Here's my one (only 1.5 weeks into 90): http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/characte...Sachdev/simple :: this is tank gear when my chances of dying are little to none (therefore, it's also my dungeoning gear; not sure why I got a Tank neck equipped currently). I do have a tank set but it's not actually been tested/used yet as by the time I built one the fucking DK came back and they used him instead lol

For glyphs, all you need is the Anti Magic Shell one, that one that actually matters and helps for tanking/damage reduction. Everything else = lol -- glyph of icebound might be useful for spiritbinder for the time you get voodoo'd. Never tried but I think it's logical. 4s of 50% damage reduction should help even a bit.

If you wondered why I chose conversion, I found it easy to pool/build up runic, so when I activate it, I can freely keep it up quite continously if my muscle memory doesn't hit rune strike. Especially when tanking the lone stone guard, I had it up most of the time to mitigate the damage (in none tank gear, I didn't have any the first time around). Suits my playstyle just fine for the time when I can't dish out much damage on the boss.

I so badly need Starshatter, or a 463 weapon. I've pooled up enough coins this time to try and roll twice for it in LFR this week.

Yeah, Vengeance is really pretty crazy, I'm not sure what it was at on Stone Guard, but on Feng I was riding 70k AP whenever I had him on me. The AMS glyph is nice, I should grab that one. I'd lose Conversion too much from Rune Striking, admittedly I probably don't use Death Siphon enough to warrant it either. I don't think our healers would be comfortable with me tanking in full on DPS gear just yet, but I will definitely try it once we're further along.

I should probably swap Runic Corruption out for one of the other two as well, probably Runic Empowerment with the amount of rune striking we get to do, I'd probably forget to hit blood tap frequently enough to not waste charges lol.

Got Starshatter on my first LFR run :3, never heard of soundtrack tho might have to look it out, just use a DBM addon to play the ff7 boss music for..well boss fights and on the note of DK glyphs im really shocked at how...well crap like 98% all of em are

Er, DS is a dps loss to heart strike. It's actually really, really close now, but heart strike still wins on dps in the same way as masterfrost vs an oblit build was during DS.

I wouldn't expect too much from your tank on that one, he's just not going to get enough vengeance to put up meaningful numbers.


On dogs tho... lol. Our other tank runs hit/exp capped, and while it makes the switching a bit messier if we keep 2 on him the whole time he pushes 180-200k.

looking at wind lord, he was holding adds and pushed 150, I was on boss whole time and put out 105.

here's the only dogs log I can find, our very first one when most of us were still sub-470, we kept the 2 on him and he did 170
