Is there a warlock spec that is better suited to running lv80-90 dungeons? It seems like the class has a lot of ramp up regardless of spec, but I've only ever quested with it (demo), and I have no real experience killing anything that matters.

If you DW 2 weapons with sha touched sockets can you gem any gem into one of them? or does it have to take a sha touched gem?
you can gem regular gem iirc, and sha gem is unique, you can only use 1
You CAN'T use a non-sha gem in a sha socket.
Shit sucks, but yeah all the tanks would be using secondary gems instead since they didn't make a tank sha gem.
It's actually bad enough that for wars and pallies the sword from hof with a normal socket is better.
It's not better with the prismatic socket from the 5.1 quest added though.
thought that wasn't til 5.2 or 5.3
Well that kind of fucking sucks, I mean the empress weapon has better stats then Spiritbinder fist but only if you can't gem it, I mean it's not like it even has a socket bonus. Dual wielders get fucked in the ass again? We already have to pay double to upgrade our weapons compared to other classes with 2 handers.

This week is the first week it'll be obtainable. 6 weeks from 5.1 launch. I'll be 190 valor short and I still haven't finished my Black Prince rep. =/
So a friend of mine who is in a top raiding guild on Emerald Dream wants to give me a ressurection scroll to start playing again. I used to play a Frost/Unholy DK during Cataclysm, but I was never a serious PvE player or raider. I kind of stuck with Battlegrounds and the random 10 man when the guild needed me.
If I got a free level 80, which class would you guys suggest to a person who will only be playing PvE with pick up groups and random friends? I'm thinking either Mage, or possibly Paladin. I'd love to tank, but I know that it probably wouldn't be too easy for a person who is just learning the all of the new mechanics on these bosses. Are elemental Shaman's still a viable spec? I'm mainly looking for a class that would allow me to have low queue times for raids and lets me save a spec for PvP when I want to battleground in my off time. Mage seems like the safest bet, but I just wanted to hear your guys opinions
Nonono you're making the game seem harder than it should be
Also, I think he just wants the mount haha!
Anyways
Paladin is good still (lets ignore the usual controversy that is the official forums). Tank, heal, dps, can do all 3 and not be as bored.
There's LFR for learning tactics/mechanics (yeh I know it's not really the best place but face it normal mode only adds 1 or 2 more mechanics on top). I wouldn't worry about it. If you're posting here I evaluate you as being just as intelligent than probably everyone else out there. Do your usual, read up on a few tacs, ask questions (someone will probably abridge it for you) and do your thing.
They changed the spec system now after MoP. Every spec gets all your base stuff. Play with it here http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/mis...ent-calculator . Talents now come in the form a choice of 3 selections every 15 levels. Usually each tier would have either a utility, heal or damage type, with all 3 being somewhat more or less equal or sometimes a no brainer choice, but usually it's comprising X for Y or Y for X. So it's possible to pvp now regardless of spec (that you had to do in cata and pick up the cookie cutting stuff)
You can use a dust of disappearnce (or tomb of disappearance ... forgot the name, but it's for level 90s only) to change between 1 talent or the other on the fly, so technically it's possible to redo all your talents before a boss fight. They stack up to 20, less than 1g each. You'll need 6 if you want to fully change every tier.
You can view what your class will pick up, ability and passive stuff, by clicking on the specialization on the right.
If you pick Mage you'll have the benefit of getting to level 90 slightly easier. Although questing doesn't take as much 1-85, there's still the chance you might not like questing and would prefer dungeon, on Paladin at least queues would be instant by being allowed to heal or tank, so levels might fly through, whereas it's less forgiving on mage.
Queue time for raids, I assume you mean LFR? Healer is most rare, then DPS and tanks, I feel.
Dunno about shamans, never touched one.
There's no need to save a spec for pvp anymore. Unless you enjoy tanking and dpsing for PvE and want to heal in PvP then yeh you gotta respec there, but the only choices you'll need to make when respecing is the 6 choices of talents.
Wife and I are thinking of transferring off Moon Guard to a East Coast server, anyone in the Retaliation/Nightfall/Stormstrike battle groups and able to get me an idea on what realms to look at (for horde). Probably PvE realm over RP, but could go back to an RP realm.
What's the optimal amount of people for 25LK hc these days? About 10? 2 healers 1 tank 7 dps?
I'm itching to start my own openraid weekly event for ICC25 HC, group loot all the way through, steamrolling everything. Free of bullshit like bonus rolls and reserved mount.
Yeah you can easily do ICC25 HC with 10 people, more just makes it go faster and with like 15 you can basically skip all phases of the LK fight
is ret pally any good at all endgame pve or is it prot/holy onry?
I'm a DK and usually burn up the charts (dk are strong right now). But our similarly geared ret can wipe the floor with me on burst and keep pace other times. they're really good if played well right now.
Silly question -
Pandaria introduced a new combat animation for all races, the modelviewer names is "DeathStrike".
The character raises his 2H weapon, turns around 360° and then strikes. As far as I know, the only class using it is Paladin, for Templar's Verdict.
Anyone knows if any other class had this animation added? I am pretty sure that DKs Death Strike did not.
I also don't see it anywhere else aside from Templar's Verdict. Never seen it on my DK.
Colossus Smash has your char bending over to do a strike so that rules that out.
Everything else that comes with a special ability (i.e. the shaman's melee ability) is the default 2 hander strike.
I think Shamans Primal Strike uses the original "dual stab" animation from Rogue (forgot the skill name) - the character bends over and strikes with both weapons.
It's super coool, especially on taurens.
It's just weird they added this new animation just for Paladins. As I spoiled DK, I demand it for my Death Strikes too!
