I'll worry about all that when i get up there. I tried fire for a bit today, but it just wasn't my cup of tea; maybe it picks up when i get more crit gear and stops being lame as fuck?

I've finally reached the point where I want to do LFR so I did a quick LFR and got into a last boss kill. My question is how does loot work in LFR now? I noticed the boss didn't "drop loot" that I could see. I did get some sort of cache or something that gave me some gold. :/
You can keep queueing up until you clear all the bosses for the valor points, each boss giving you a chance to get either lot or a gold cache bag. But even if you do clear the bosses you can still queue up but you won't get loot/gold cache.
So it's the same as it was before with the exception of adding a 'loot cache'?
Yea, you are guaranteed something now either gold or an item.
Get used to getting 28 gold.
And occasionally wishing you got the 28g 50s instead. I've gotten five capes from LFR Garalon now, and they sell for less than 28g.
I'm considering dropping Alchemy to take up Enchanting just so I'll have something worthwhile to do with redundant drops.
So, how casual can someone be with the game and still feel accomplished? I can't devote serious time to the game anymore, but I really enjoyed progression and getting things done. Would it be like Cataclysm and just log on once a week to do LFR and then log off?
I've been playing super casually since I've been back. I only log on maybe 3 days a week (Fri/sat/sun). I've made slow progress, but still fairly satisfying enough progress for me (last night I finally finished the first round of Wrathion quests to get my sha-touched jewel). I think you just need to set small goals, especially when it comes to rep-grinding, otherwise you will get frustrated pretty quickly. LFR is definitely a great thing for the super casual- all my friends have quit, so its nice to still be able to successfully raid and get some things done.
I went from overly hardcore raiding 5-6 days a week to now raiding 2 days a week for the last couple of years. It gets frustrating, especially since we are a 10 man and not 25. But if you are playing with friends, it surpasses everything. We happen to be a group of 8 or so friends, most RL, that have been playing different games together for something like 6-8 years. It is the only way I'd enjoy playing this way. It's still really enjoyable when we do kill something new, and we're still able to see all of the content so it all works out.
I don't really try to gear up or do any sort of current progression. For me, the game is all about achievement hunting, casual PvP (mostly BGs), and leveling my alts. I've been really into planning transmogs for all of them, too, which gives me something to work toward. The game is often a very solo endeavor for me. If you can shift your priorities away from being in the best tier and just playing what you enjoy - lately soloing old raids is my big thing - you'll have fun no problem. But not everyone wants to play that way. I'm the ultimate casuall, lol
yeah if you're really into transmogs and/or pet battles there's a shitload of solo content to be found working on them
...Pet battles? Did they pankration WoW too?
Actually they more or less did Pokemon WoW. It's really quite good, no rewards around it.

Each pet can learn 6 moves, you pick 3 (Strategically) in your main slots. Each move has a variety of effects that can affect you or the enemy, i.e. disable you for 2 rounds etc. All in all, just like Pokemon. lol
Got HC caster staff from coin on Lei shi. Is this better than normal(upgraded 2/2) mace from empress + 502 hc fan from feng?
Disc priest
Doubt it, unless crit is better for you and you gonna upgrade the staff also. Offhand enchant gives you more int.
Is holy paladin very gear dependent? I've started gearing up as holy with about 450ish itemlevel, but I feel so very inferior to my priest. I have no idea how I'm going to heal CM golds at this rate :<
also, best way to aoe heal as holy paladin while people are spread?
so eyeballing, is subtlety the strongest tree for rogue, and is combat 2nd? subtlety seems like it takes some getting used to and combat as of level 73 is just spam knives and win game. should i switch to subtlety once i get 2 good daggers or just snooze and stay combat til i get 2...great daggers
combat's great for cleave, but suffers single target. sub and assassination are still tops for single target ,according to my guild rogue
Samanosuke, when you do sha, do you full time Sha, or help on adds? Everything I've ever read says affl locks stay on him due to our brand of dps, but my last group pitched a giant bitch about me helping on adds
