To the mages out there, what kind of resources do you use to continue to learn about your class? Since I can remember I've used EJ and Rawr to up my game and now both of those aren't ever updated. I just got back in to mage and am even having troubles deciding specs and such.

Sometime in the last month all of my <stnpc> and <stal> macros stopped working. Now when I hit them they always target me and begin to cast. I'm unsure why this is, I'm assuming it has something to do with windower, but if anyone has encountered this issue or has a suggestion to fix it I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't mean as much a starter place but a place to learn the inner workings beyond what a small guide can do. Kind of like what other mages are using for their tier 6 talent on each ToT fight and what dual specs are people using? When does Fire finally get enough crit to be not terrible? (I've noticed if you play around with Noxxic, a 496 Fire is absolute garbage compare to other 496s, but 522 fire is the 4th best ranked DPS.) Another example: Today I was looking at set bonuses since my Mage is still undergeared and doesn't even have T14 I wanted to see how much damage the 4 piece bonus would add. Back in the day I'd go into Rawr and there's a little tab that says specifically how much DPS 4 piece adds, but now a days I'm stuck with askmrrobot and it doesn't seem to work as well.

Icy Veins has boss-specific advice on each encounter guide that you may choose to adopt/ignore. Other than that just ask specific questions here, plenty of posters raid normals/heroics.

Just got my DK back up to 90 and geared up for pvp mostly, as UH is it mastery > haste > crit now in stat weight terms?

Also does desecrated ground share a CD with pvp trinket? If so is there really any reason to get a pvp trinket and not use this talent for everything? Seems pretty damn good.

Alright I'll give it a shot here then. First I'd like to ask, what spec (or does it even matter) do mages go for add heavy fights like Horridon? Now that LB doesn't spread and Arcane Barrage cleaves, is just staying arcane the best choice or would I be better switching to Frost/Fire?

That's the generally accepted setup, yes. But... I find people overvalue haste dramatically for both frost and unholy in pvp. Any time spent off target is dramatically reducing the effect of haste, and, well, we have one hell of a lot of time spent off target.

So personally I almost entirely forgo haste for pvp.

I've never taken pvp very seriously on my dk, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

They don't share cooldowns which actually makes dese even better, it's a straight up extra trinket on 1 min cd.

I can't think of any knockbacks in panda dungeons, but there's been mrargus type shit around for WoW just as long as FFXI.

Any of you having weird problems with the game lately? My auction house searches take ages, and I often have to log out, log on another toon then back to the first toon in order to loot rare mobs. Without the blizzard repair tool I don't know what options I have to fix this without a clean install.

It wasn't Flying Serpent Kick? 400% movement speed, about as much as an epic flying mount.

So what's considered acceptable DPS these days? I recently reinstalled Recount for shits and giggles and I just wonder what I should be aiming for.

Depends on item level really, as there's a huge jump in DPS potential between someone in 460 vs someone even just at 480. You're a 477 shadow priest, so I'd say in the range of 65k would be a fairly decent estimate.
