Anyone here a geared Boomkin? Or main it at least?
My casual 10man guild needed an OT so I dropped my main rogue and am Feral OTing now, I hate kitty though and balance is my dualspec but I don't get much chance to play it... we might have picked up a new OT so I can go boomkin but I'm not sure If I'll like it, so I'm trying to find out if its fun for PVE only, I have rogue for PVP and arenas.
I have a 34warrior that I'm leveling with my sister as well, a 68hunter, really just looking for a class thats fun to PVE with... I was told Boomkin and ELE shaman are a blast but I don't have much experience with either, have the option of the warrior hunter or I guess a DK if it isn't fun but I'd like to know before I start focusing on one of them.
Is it fun to play in pve? I'm used to rogue having high dps, and I've seen some high dps boomkins... The rotation is a little weird, I don't know if I'm a fan of the dots.
I've always been melee with the exception of an old hunter, wondering if boomkin is a fun caster to play or if i should just focus on the hunter since its 68.
I was dying to level warrior with TG since I love 2handers, but the nerf made me rethink it so idk if I even want to level that now.
Moonkin rotation is actually kinda complicated due to eclipse and the synergies between dots and nukes. At least they took iFF out of the equation by giving it a 5 min pve duration. But yea sometimes I feel like that cat DPS chart--JOHN FUCKING MADDEN!
Oh, and it'll always be a few notches below other classes for pure dps output, but it brings a lot of tasty buffs, such as spell haste/crit aura, iFF and CotE.
I play cat as my main, but I have a set of moonkin gear that was close to BiS naxx gear. At the moment cat DPS is far higher from my experience. Moonkin brings a lot of buffs, but as far as raw output I've never been impressed. Both are somewhat similar and have you maintaining dots with different durations for maximum DPS, and for moonkin playing with the ICD of procs to maximize DPS.
Well I suppose if we do pick up this offtank I'll at least play it and try it somewhat, and if I don't like It I'll just pve on rogue until hunter is 80.
Thanks for the input. I have ADD so finding a fun PVE class has always been difficult for me. Rogue was ok but I miss the TBC version of it. Paladin was fun but I don't have that char anymore ;p was always interested in shaman but too lazy.
Cat DPS is silly good these days. Probably the highest DPS of anything you can bring to a raid, especially with an arms warrior present.
Play boomkin to be nice to your mages.
Quick Enhancement shaman question, i cant find any reliable information on basic stat requirements hit/crit/exp/haste & a question about weapon choices, currently have axe, fist ance mace capped, what would be my best choices of weapons to MH/OH (i can skill dagger if it would be a better option)
That link is pretty accurate, but for a priority rotation you want to use:
Feral Spirit
Lightning Bolt with 5 stacks of Maelstrom Weapon
Earth Shock if Stormstrike debuff is up
Stormstrike
Earth Shock
Magma Totem
Lava Lash
Lightning Shield
Is there any way to track both herbs and minerals on the mini map simultaneously?
It did but it was very quietly fixed.
So, no, not anymore.

No.
Is Titans grip bad now?
I wanted to level my warrior so I had a 2hand weilding class, let alone 2 2handers, but if it's nerfed THAT badly then it's not worth leveling a level 35 when I could just level a dk or play a higher alt. Warrior still fun at all in PVE?
Arms is very good. Fury is excellent for some fights (like Kologarn, I'm betting fury warrior is #1 for him) but atm Arms is amazing.
Titans Grip is fine though I'd consider what you'll be using your Warrior before you decide on a spec. I find that rage generation is hit so bad by the 10% nerf that if you don't have the right group to support Fury, it suffers. It's simply not very fun if you don't have at least Windfury.
Arms is fine and better early but I don't believe it'll scale as well as Fury will in a 25 man raid environment. When I was playing Arms at the tail end of TBC in Black Temple it was incredibly fun.
Is the heirloom 2h axe going to be useful enough to bother getting for my 61 ret pally?
I might eventually roll a DK or level a warrior, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
