It's not really a slipper slope. Shit started with pets I think right? and people were like "Oh it will only be pets!" then it had mounts and people were like "Its only pets and mounts guys!" then an exp boost and now vanity items. Selling crafting materials won't be that huge of a step really either. I mean why not? If people don't want to farm for the items due to time constraints, why not let them purchase 10 stacks of dust off the store instead of buying gold and then purchasing them in game?

Either way I don't give a shit what they sell in their store, it's their game. This all does point to the game going F2P soon though, (maybe even next expansion) because a F2P game with a "robust" store will sell a shit load, because people will gladly drop $$ in store if they arnt paying a sub (I mean shit, people gladly drop $$ in their store WHILE paying a sub)

What I would like to see is that these items can be purchasable in game with gold, much like TERA cosmetic items can be purchased with in game currency. That works far better imo because it means people don't feel obligated to shell out RL cash, they will just have to get the item another way.

I believe there's not been an EXP cut for 85-90?
I think they cut it by 15% didn't they? When I came back to lvl shaman the 89-90 amount of exp seemed a lot lower. I mean I didn't even go to dreadwastes and did like 1/12th of Towlong to hit 90 (Only did Jade Forest > Kunlai > Towlong)

Agree that it's their game and we shouldn't need to be all raging about it. Started with that pony I believe, or yeh a pet, but I wasn't around then.

Also, I do like the idea of being able to buy these items with gold. Even if it's a ridiculous (somewhat) amount, at least it's attainable sometime in the future with patience and a bit of work/gameplay, much like a lot of current in-game purchases of mobile phone games. However, I think this puts a minor problem into the equation that Blizzard are essentially giving the price of gold a value?

15% EXP cut, well, I'll see if I can muster the effort to go through some notes, but it's not too significant haha. A good friend of mine called me today and told me the situation and how he plays and enjoys LFR as he can't raid due to working nights, and wants me to plop back. I told him that I'll consider it depending on the exp required to level and when 5.4 comes out so I can peek at the final raid.

Vanity item sales are meaningless, if they bother people those people have problems.

It's just a silly argument to see "OMG THEY'RE ADDING AESTHETIC STUFF ACTIBLI$$ARD STRIKES AGAIN." Pets, mounts, exp boosts, whatever. If they start adding stuff that actually has a tangible impact on gameplay, then you can start complaining. Not that you were specifically, but you know what I'm saying.

Edit: Has there even been any word on the exp potion other than it was being targeted for the Eastern(China, Korea, etc) regions where the model is already drastically different than what we have in the Americas and Europe? As far as I know, the exp potion isn't even coming here.
Implying that exp pots and raf don't impact gameplay tho is... wut

Eh, faster xp doesn't really impact the gameplay all that much. I spent the vast majority of my time in the game at max level.

I've played a friend's account and leveled it from 60 to 70 and again from 70 to 80, but when I did my paladin a couple months ago was the first time I've ever actually had 2 of my own toons at max level in WoW (aside from like a week at the end of wrath when I leveled dk for cata), and I only did it because of the pet batle thing; it's entirely because of how much I hate leveling. If leveling didn't suck balls (including through raf and shit), I'd probably have every class lol.

Lord knows I could have used it when I was trying to esport and borrowing people's ungeared druids to play in the top 10 lol.

Fuck I could use it right now knowing that no matter how well I play my DK my raid would always be better off with another class, be it pretty much any other tank, or any ranged dps or rogue.

Coupled with the whole FOTM pvp crap it could have a slight impact. You'll see far more of (x) class since leveling will be even easier (even though with heirlooms you can go 1-90 in 2 days)

I think it's something like 6million less from 89 to 90 now then it was before? I cant remember but my leveling buddy commented on it when we hit 89 and ive never been able to do 85-90 in only 2 zones w/o doing dungeons more then once.

    It was 33%.

Experience needed to increase from level 85 to level 90 has been reduced by 33%.

For FOTM rerollers it's already stupid easy to go 1-90--that's the easy part compared to grinding for honor/conquest.

I could see them disabling the potion for 90-95 during the first tier of the new expansion, much like heirlooms/etc don't scale, just to keep the impact minimal to the large majority of players.

33% ... if I burn through all my rested exp in a sitting and then break for a week (playing main/farming pets), that's not too bad ... !

    .
Honor grind is a pain but conquest grind isn't hard at all with the catch up system. My 1st 3 weeks I had a cap of like 9k or something for CP that I couldn't even get close to but it only took 2 weeks to get all my main pieces+weapons+an off piece or two by running Hunter + Enh Shaman in 2s (because that comp is hard yo!)

Honor grind I got through just by doing the Thunder dailies that give like 500 honor a day which is nice (fucking sucks you have to do ALL the solo scenarios though 1st)

honor gear is hilarious atm, it's complete trash, the best way to get it is through dungeon farming for jp conversion, and it doesn't even have its spot as "how to get ilvl for lfr" anymore since you can get so much cq gear so fast

To the ranged dps out there, how much of a boost to your dps was the legendary cape? I haven't had time to jump on and find a random H scen or LFR to test mine out yet.

It really is about exactly what you'd expect from an overall 5 ilvl increase.

Since they gave it 3 stats + socket, it's not eaten into by overbudgeting like it would have been had they gone with just higher quantities of 2, so it's really similar to just upgrading everything else by 4-5 ilvl.

Now, when the procs come in, that's going to be a completely different story... like, potentially another 10% of your dps like the metas are.

Yar. Tank one is modified cheat death/purgatory, "absorbs all damage of any hit that would kill you," once every 60 seconds. Great for when you'd otherwise die to a raged horridon's 800k hit, not so great when a 5k dot tick would have killed you.

Melee one is chance to cleave the fuck out of everything in front of you (and it's a big single target boost too), 60% weapon dmg to all targets in front of you every half second for 3 seconds.

Caster one is same basic concept as melee, 4 second dot on target and everything around it.

Healer one I'm not sure about, there's 2 versions and I'm not sure which was the original and which is the new. I THINK the new, and expected final one, is that all heals also heal for 3% of target's max health every second for 3 seconds. The other version, which I think was the original and has been replaced by that, was a chance to increase all healing by 5% and turn all overhealing into aoe smart heals during proc.

They also all have pretty spiffy graphics for the procs.

The new one is 3% increased healing for 10 secs, and all overhealing done spreads to nearby members. The old version was absolute crap.

Ah, k. I'm not sure I agree it's better than the other version, though. The 3% all heal boost is... ok, cool, but then, depending on how the other one applied, if every time you cast an aoe heal it also healed every target for 10% of their hp, that shit would be sick for anything aoe, which is also the only time the new proc is good.

Fuck, imagine Anub with that lol. I can totally see a 25 man "Ok we're going to want 1, maybe 2 hpal, that will cover all the healing as they beacon the tank and alternate radiance > 1hp light > daybreak shock > 1hp light > radiance > etc."

that caster dps one sounds op for some classes. i wonder if that dot it puts is based on spellpower, etc.

How did the legendary affect me? Fucking ROLLED the rest of the group tonight. 23% of total damage, and we roll 5 dps for some fights, 6 for others.

That being said, we solo-healed jin-rokh today, fucking hilarious.

I've been wanting to try solo-healing H Jinrokh -- we'd probably kill during or slightly after the first lightning storm.
