We solo healed him this week but had some fuckups and didn't kill him til about 10 seconds after the 2nd throw, and I was dead for the last like 40 seconds so no rank qq.
Slightly above 50th percentile while dead almost half the fight tho, lol.

Not a big raid person, but I see normal raids forming through oqueue a lot. Friend said you can't get xfer drops in raids (well then he kinda said you can't for ToT idk, he's weird). Just wanted to confirm/deny that before I waste my time at some point.
Not sure what you mean. But if you can enter the raid cross-realm, you're eligible for loot as per usual. You can't enter ToT cross-realm at all, so obviously, you can't get loot that way.
ToT will become available cross-realm as soon as 5.4 hits. If you want to run it normal or heroic you have to have a group from your server til then.
Siege will have Flex mode, the step between LFR and normal, which you'll need an actual group for, but can enter with anywhere between 10-25 and it will scale to group size. Loot there will be higher ilvl than LFR, but will use the LFR drop system. Flex mode will allow cross-realm.
Normal and heroic will continue to be unavailable for cross realm, outside the few ("totally not") merged realms.
You can enter and loot cross-realm in normal or heroic MSV, HoF, and Terrace now, as you'll be able to with ToT next patch. That's probably what you're seeing groups for on oqueue.
Playing my trial account, got into Ragefire Chasm as a horde for the first time.
When did it change? Or is it just drastically different to the Alliance version. I was surprised at:
1. The glowing dog, and how it changes targets
2. The soldier dude who puts shit on ground you gotta dodge
3. WTF MAGMAW????
4. A last boss similar to the Raz model, but not as boss.
It was just so different with different things happening (also 2 guys were new to WoW) it felt enjoyable haha
New for MoP.
-.-
This doesn't really fit in this thread but I didn't want to start a new thread for it. Anyway, if you're all free on 10/26, come join this, it's a lot of fun and for a good cause!

does anybody know if multistrike can proc off of rain of fire ticks? if it can wouldn't that mean it borders on unusable? or would the dps boost be enough to outweigh not being able to use rain of fire in a single target scenario? also, roughly how much damage can/should a healer do in say...norushen? it seems like that fight is pretty straightforward healing-wise, with nothing to dispel. i'm looking for every possible way to increase dps now, and i'm using plow's info, at least as much of it as the raid leader would take. i crunched some numbers and if our healers could pull like 25k, it should be ok. i don't want to be that guy and be the new dps that tells healers to do more damage, but i just dunno. obviously all dps want to do more damage, etc, and we're trying, but i want this fucking thing ended now, not when i/we get more gear.
healers can add pretty meaningful dps by going in and helping their npc's kill stuff, any damage they do is transferred fully to the boss
Anyone on area 52? Just came back and no one i know still around.
Yeah so I decided to get back into this fresh. Can't remember anything from my old B.net account and the wow side of it, got banned because of some hacker took it, and I never recovered it afterwards. Although I did change the PW but did nothing else so they hammered it. So I ended up picking up the new battle chest and pandas together.
So what exactly has changed since lich king? I know they went and fucked with the skill tree I loved and the world, but that's all I know.
This does come with lolbradygames guide tho
Pretty much nothing has changed since LK other than better organized quest hubs.
Like, really. It's the same game with more zones.
did LK introduce shitty paladin holy power? hate playing on my pally now because of that crap. if it did then you understand, if not than pally has a new resource. it's shitty and stupid. /bitch
I believe paladin and lock are the 2 classes that have had revamps since lk. Holy power wasn't in lk, it was 969, holy light spam, and faceroll.
So i took advantage of the back Friday sale to grab the game and all the expansion for $15 and playing for the first time. It's weird getting into such an established game at this point but i'm rather enjoying the fluidity of combat. While i'm taking my time learning the ropes properly, i'm curious if there's a certain progression path once hitting 90? Currently 70 and just solo questing and haven't done any dungeons.
Start doing dungeons through the random dungeon finder now to get a feel for that. It's also good exp, especially the first time you get a given dungeon, so it's a win-win.
Most of the people you'll run with will have done most of the dungeons plenty of times on various toons, so if you're stuck trying to figure out where buttons are and making new binds and stuff mid-dungeon, it's generally not going to be a problem these days.
Once you get to 90 you'll hit item level barriers. You'll have to do a few normal dungeons to get the item level to queue for heroic dungeons. You'll want to do some heroic dungeons to get yourself familiar with the class, and the basics of single target and aoe fighting in general. However, once you're feeling comfortable, heroics are pretty pointless these days other than for the daily valor.
There's 2 major things that cause this:
PvP gear. Last season's pvp gear becomes available for honor when the new season starts, and it's actually some of the best available starter pve gear. The stats that make it pvp gear are free "bonus" itemization-- those stats do nothing in pve, but the other stats are the exact same quantities as pve gear of the same item level.
Honor, of course, is very easy to obtain, you just do battlegrounds.
The other big thing is what you'll hear referred to as "timeless isle gear."
When this raid patch came out, they put in an island full of daily quests, rare mobs, and a few world bosses. Scattered all over said island are chests that are extremely easy to run around, and they're individual to each character so there's not competition for them. In those chests you'll find a bunch of stuff, including "unfinished" gear, which you simply have to click on to turn it into a very nice piece of gear specific to your armor type and spec. (you can get different item types your class can't use, like a rogue might get an unfinished mail piece; they're account bound so you can send them to any alts you level, or just trash em if it's something you'll never use).
The island's mobs also drop those items as well.
You can also buy quite a bit of stuff from various venders on the island with a couple different ways of obtaining currency.
Here's a nice guide to the island; you'll want to use it extensively in getting your character up to a decent starting point for raiding.

That should cover your gearing and the very basics of play with practicing in heroics. From there, things are exceedingly simple:
Do LFR raids until you're comfortable enough with your performance to start looking at real raids. Then start looking at pugs, try to keep track of people you've played with and enjoyed so you can group up with them again, etc. etc.
You can run LFR repeatedly, you just won't get any loot after the first time, but you can still use it as a pretty good place to go practice.
There are also things like proving grounds and brawler's guild you can get into if you prefer to get all your practice solo, they both basically mimic the raiding experience, although brawler's guild puts a stronger focus on self-reliance. Proving grounds behaves as if you had everyone else with you and only had to focus on your role, i.e. you're not going to get beat up and need to heal yourself as a dps in there. Brawler's guild can demand you to use self healing and defensive talents and abilities you generally wouldn't use in a group situation to survive.
Good advice but:
Those bitches sell to a vendor for 5g, and for a new player that's useful. So I wouldn't recommend trashing them, but vendor them instead. Hell, I'm not a new player but I only have about 28k which apparently makes me poor in WoW so I vendor everything I can get my hands on.
yeah by trash I mean vendor
there's very little you'd actually drop these days since random extra quest shit disappears when you abandon/hand in most of the time now
