Figured as much, just wonder if people are going to give me shit for not having the achieves if I try to join a Flex raid, god knows people in WoW are highly picky about PUGs.

After you do LFR you'll understand why.

LFR is an extremely inefficient way of going through training. The situational awareness required is extremely low and you'll waste a lot of time as people die over and over again to trivial shit like trash or fire on the ground. Flex has long since replaced LFR as the preferred endgame environment of the semi-competent. Watch a few videos, oqueue it up and you'll be fine.

this is an odd time for LFR, as quite a few people have boosted toons that they don't know how to play, and are undergeared... but a lot of the players actually know the raid


the trouble bosses in lfr are basically galakras and garrosh, and a tiny bit nazgrim, other than that most groups are 1-2 shotting most bosses

and galakras usually goes down in a try or 2 if people will actually take the time to make (and volunteer for) a tower group


anyway, yeah, if you want to dip your toes into raiding this is what I would suggest:

first spend a few minutes at icy veins or elitist jerks or whatever and take a look at the priority lists they give you

second, look into the legendary quest line and talk to the people to start it http://www.wowhead.com/news=217993/m...pdated-for-5-4 <that starts with the most recent stuff btw, you'll want to scroll down to where it says Chapter I and go from there


at that point, make an effort to kill as many bosses from the entire expansion as you can, for your sigils of power/wisdom-- you only need to bother once, and LFR works, it doesn't progress the quest any further to do, say, msv on lfr and again on normal

so any of MSV, HoF, ToES, ToT, and the first 8 bosses in SoO will all help you get that quest moving forward, on any difficulty



having never raided you'll need to spend time figuring out how to maximize your dps while dealing with various mechanics, and you can pretty much treat LFR as a target dummy with essentially just visual versions of the shit you need to avoid because it will kill you in higher difficulties



you probably shouldn't jump straight into flex as your first raiding experience ever, you'll die to stupid shit and it won't be a pleasant experience for you or your group, unless it's a group that knows they're essentially carrying you...

and, on that note, you can add me and I'll try to get you in for some flex runs with my guild if you want, Laila#1296. I have no idea if we're on around the same times tho, I don't think so since I'm on super late at night pretty much exclusively. Oh, and since you're on KJ you could just add my mage Lailalala and/or my dk Mooiamacow. I'm usually on mage outside main raid atm.

I've raided in the past (Wrath) just not recently. I know the stat weighting and priority for my main and I know S Priest is weak on single target but strong on multiples.

I dunno, maybe I should just stuck with PvP lol

you should still start the legendary quest even if you don't want to do a bunch of lfr and shit, just doing any raiding at all will advance it at least a bit, and eventually you get legendary shit that's really fucking cool

Yeah I did the quest for the Black Prince rep (was gonna get it anyway) but not the one where you get the drops from the raid bosses.

I might try it, just hope no one wants me to get on vent or anything because I'm totally over voice communication in video games.

start with a flex vale, it is just about as brain-dead as the LFR version, and it is easily carryable by 1 or 2 solid DPS, plus you will be able to tell if the group is terrible if they require voice chat for wing 1

just got my first heroic heirloom and it's... the 2h axe, same as my only non-heroic heirloom drop

which is awesome since dk leveling is best as dual wield and I'm maining mage next expansion

yeah it's spiffy, as long as you're in decent gear frost can aoe grind as well as blood ever could

siphon makes sure big bads are a non-issue too, there's actually almost nothing I bother going blood for these days... like 1 of the weekly dudes on iot and warbringers (which is more cuz pvp happens there) are all I can think of
