Ok so I've been given the option to go whatever tank class I want, I really have enjoyed tanking as Warr and DK. I can't decide which to roll for the expac. I'm leaning towards warr cause i have way more transmog and flexibility of glad stance for when I wanna have fun/pvp etc. Any opinions either way?
Warrior. I'm leveling one now and it's way more fun than tanking on Blood. Something about charging and leaping is so satisfying.
I boosted warrior to 90 with the preorder free one. I got 2x heroic heirloom 1h, so I am SMF. Warrior is actually sweet as fuck lol. I love DK and all, but damn, shoulda jumped on the warrior bandwagon a while ago.
DK went flat when 6.0 rolled in
Yes, Warrior > PLD > DK for me in terms of preference
I know you didn't say Pally but damn I love tanking on Pally. I don't really do anything super serious with her but I've come to start enjoying being a tank. May have to start exploring other roles with my other classes.
I have all of the tank classes at 90, I've just never really tanked on Pally or Monk. My co-tank will be a monk.
Whelp, I was going to say that you should try Monk up until that last post. Oh well.
Pally always seems to have a lot more utility than any other tank, but with the option of Gladstance I can't see why anyone would pick something other than Warrior. Seems broke as fuck to me, but that's mostly because I've effectively been doing the same thing (sharing gear between tank and DPS specs) for the entire last expac, and I'm salty as hell that someone is better at it than Monk now, since now every piece can be shared by Prot between stances and be nearly optimal.
Yea that's my train of thought for rollin Warrior. I'd like to snag a hellscream tank shield before xpac but i alrady have 2haxe heroic, 1h sword, and bow so i doubt i get lucky and snag a shield in the last 2 runs
I am leveling a Brewmaster Monk now and I've pretty much got to be paying attention and pulling carefully at all times or else my face gets smashed in and pretty fast. It's really fun, I can't remember the last time I felt at danger inside a dungeon.
The only downside is healers/dps stuck in 5.4 mode that try and pull mobs because they think I am too slow, which then obviously causes a fucking onslaught which then means people start getting angry at me. It's funny really but it gets annoying to deal with after awhile, but since hitting Northrend people have calmed the fuck down I guess it took 70+ levels for that to sink in for these people.
I'm only level 30 on my Prot Warrior and am already of the mindset that if they pull it, they can tank it. I just pulled a pack of 5 mobs and people are already running ahead to the next pack before even touching mobs in front of them. They can whine and blame me all they want but i'm not the one that has to run back now. Eventually they'll learn but either way i get instant queues.
I really don't get this stat squish thing, for gear. After years of the old system, and just coming back for the expansion, I honestly can't get a read on what gear is actually doing for me since I'm over-leveled on stuff and not seeing much difference in gear numbers. Looking at an ILV 200 Epic Waist and comparing it to an ILVL 378, and the difference is +17 Crit and a Blue Gem slot, which is an additional +16 secondary or +12 Stamina, I think. So for another 40sh gold, it doesn't seem like there's a lot of reason to get it, but maybe I'm just not used to such small gains from that many ILV? I don't mind picking up some gear, to help with Pandaria, but even this small amount of gold just doesn't seem worth it for the stat gains.
Does this weird gear/leveling progression smooth out in Draenor? I did notice LVL 90 blues quest rewards, from the pre-WoD event, were better then my Cataclysm reputation epics/heroic dungeon drops, but I'm just not seeing that going from lvl 80 epics to lvl 85 epics, leveling an alt of mine.
gear progression from wrath to cata is super fucked, with many wrath pieces being equal to or better than cata pieces, but it straightens itself out in pandaria and i'm sure it will stay smoother in WoD. ilvl makes very little difference while leveling, and that's why they removed (or lowered significantly) the initial ilvl requirements for the first few dungeons in cata/pandaria, since you used to kind of hit a wall unless you bought lvl 78 or 84 greens
basically i think they really want you to either boost or dungeon spam to 90, and if you dungeon spam pay little attention to anything but xp values
If I buy new game keys and add another WoW account to my battle.net account, do they share a password/achievements/mounts/pets or will it be completely separate?
Probably completely separate.
So I know I'm late to the game... but what should I do with all my motes of harmony? I haven't played in like 2 months and have a shit load of these(my main has cloth but I have royal satchels on all characters). Also, should I be selling my enchanting mats or saving them?
And my JC mats and alchemy mats...
Selling. Its all worthless on Thursday (until it gets scarce for people leveling alt professions in like a year)
