I'd say 2500g was a perfectly reasonable amount for an Ulduar BoE. It is 1 of 10 drops from normal Kologarn, and he drops 2 items when you kill him. All depends if you have a guild that can kill normal Kologarn I guess.

A better cape drops from Kel'Thuzad in Naxx 25 though:Drape of the Deadly Foe - Item - World of Warcraft

I'd assume Cloak of Bloodied Waters - Item - World of Warcraft is better than what you bought, and it's around 80g. (your dk right?).

Edit: going from the bloodied waters to shattered giant, you lose 34 attack, yet gain 1.1% crit. So it's up to you really, personally i'd take the guaranteed extra 34 damage over such a small crit boost. Could still be worth it if you are struggling to hit your hit cap.

We've had that drop four times or so but loot in WoW is just luck. You could get it every week or not at all so I wouldn't dwell on it's drop rate.

I personally think you got a good deal out of that. What, 2.5k? Considering how good that cloak is for non-plate wearing DPS until you get hard mode Vezax 10 cloak, I would've attempted to sell that for 5k on our AH.

If he's a DK its a terrible choice for a cloak, I was assuming he was a rogue/hunter/enh shaman/cat druid

It's better if

a) you get ap from agility
b) you are a class that needs to cap hit and/or have hit gems and the extra hit on cloak will let you use better gems

In any other case I think I'd prefer Aged Winter Cloak - Item - World of Warcraft

Feral (tank)/Resto will theoretically get you more parties since those roles are harder to fill, but I'd be more inclined to do balance/resto for gear synergy like you said. It's why my current specs are both feral, just different points in each for tank and dps. Eventually I'll probably level another druid for balance/resto lol.

T7 bodypiece (Heroes' Dreamwalker Robe) for restodruids, or the exalted Kirin Tor bodypiece (Robes of the Cackling Flame)?

I'm having slight issues seeing the big advantage of T7 over the robes. I can top the spell power (a little) by gemming the T7, but they come out to the same haste rating. The T7 has less intellect than the robes. The spirit boost is nice, but at the same time I lose 26 mana per 5 sec.

I'm currently wearing the Robes of the Cackling Flame, there's a Chestguard of the Lost Vanquisher in my inventory, I have 1 hour 45 mins before I can no longer get a refund on my 80 emblems of heroism. Someone explain to me why the T7 is better, when I don't have a set bonus?

PS. I'm not in a raiding guild, nor am I looking to join one in the future; I do heroics and the occasional 10-man.

Quick question about how to handle mimiron, were having an awful lot of difficulty downing him, mainly due to the first phase oddly enough, plasma blast is just annihilating our tank.

Current setup is:
Prot warrior
Prot Pally (can spec to holy)
Enhancement shaman
Dk
Fury Warrior
Hunter
Boomkin
Mage
Resto Shammy
Holy Pally

we tried using the HoSac method after the warrior uses his shield wall CD, but the main issue is if a ranged gets hit by the aoe move while PB is coming in.

any tips or advice?

You only need 1 tank for 10man.
For Plasma we do Guardian spirit->Bubble/sac-> then a bubble/sac if we get a third one.

Sounds like it's not in your case, but if you ever get access to that set bonus it may be worth giving up the slight int boost...I'd get the badges back for now. You can always buy it later.

Edit: Err, are you accounting for spellpower from spirit in treeform in your comparison? That may tip the scales...


Edit2: Tricen- The 219 is a definite improvement over what you're currently wearing, I was just saying there's some other stuff that's pretty damnedably close if you can get it/have it already. If you equip that cape now then you'll be set to get started in later content instead of waiting on a Naxx drop...money is readily replenished, upgrades require a bit of luck. I'd probably equip it in your shoes.

Honestly the HoSac method is the best looking at your group setup so just keep going with that, honestly ranged shouldnt be taking any dmg during phase one at all unless hit with the missle thing ( cant remember its name ) and even if they hit with it one flash of light, a couple of lifeblooms will easily be enough to fill them back up to full.

We did it with a warrior tank and well the only thing we could do was curebomb the living fuck out of them. As a resto druid I made sure I saved my swiftmend for that plasma blast as well as a lifebloom as soon as I saw the message, and spammed with everyone else. Dunno what defensive mechanisms warriors get but it seemed like the best solution for our group (priest holadin resto) was curebombing that.

So I traded 1k +10abyss crystals (80~g/e) + 10 frozen orbs (70~g/e) for Shawl of the Shattered Giant - Item - World of Warcraft . How bad did I get fucked over? Pretty sure it doesn't drop a lot, and I am not geared enough for ulduar. Still on Naxx25 and stuff.. The emblem of valor cape isn't as good (imo), and I don't think a better cape drops in naxx25.. So I would assume I would be using this for a while... Any thoughts?

It all depends on what it's worth to you.

It's 'only' a 219, but it's a 219 you could buy outside of raid. It comes from defeating 10 man Kologarn, who isn't terribly hard to get to and kill if you've got some decent raiders.

It seems itemized pretty well for rogues/hunters/kitties.

I'd say ~2500 is a bit steep, but I'm not you.

All of naxx 25 and valor token capes are 213, except KT who drops 226.
