There's my mage currently, raiding as arcane. Am i missing anything major gear wise? Like is there a glaring oversight im missing? my dps is hovering around 2800, 3k if i really push hard. I just feel like i'm not doing enough dps. I know the blade has to go, but i'm not seeing a worthwhile upgrade, unless KT drops his dagger on normal. Should i be going for any of the t7? or just skip it and continue working on t8?

(and yeah i know i'm 89 points over hit cap atm, but like i said; I see zero upgrades outside of uld or 25 man naxx, but finding a pug group for that is rough here).

Edit: My single target rotation is arcane blastx3 > arcane barrage, replaced with missles if proc is up.

there's 50+ dps depending on raid-buffs.
your 2 'blue' gems to activate it should be purple SP + Spirit. In general red 19 SP gems everywhere else, unless the socket bonus is 5sp per gem or more.

also. Tier 7 is completely worthwhile (esp if that's what you have access to) unless you're getting carried by friends/guildies in Ulduar and it will be replaced very soon. The 2pc Bonus is alot more mana as well as a spell power buff every mana-gem cooldown. The 4pc bonus is outstanding as well, even for the non-crit-reliant arcane spec.
I'm showing a ~50dps increase just putting on Heroes robes. Without set bonus. (80 badges)
The hands should be relatively easy to get from OS10, usually at least half the people in raid don't need them, then you just need a little luck. Or schlep along for an OS25 and try to score the 7.5 (also a shot at best-outside-ulduar trinket)

Also from heroics/badges, 2 trinkets... Sundial (40 badges) and Forge Ember (HoS Heroic). Or Embrace of the Spider from naxx 10 (better than either of the others I mentioned for arcane). The only way Bell and Illusion card are 'hot' for mage is if you have zero replenishment, zero wisdom/mana totem buffs... and even then it's better to "do more" with the mana you have and abuse your 2 minutes evocation cooldown. 200 spell is neat, but there are just better choices. Sorry if you spent alot of money on them.

get Rawr and play around with it. It will help you make wise gear decisions and allow you to see what's out there and just how much it will make you better.

Kirin Tor Revered for head enchant (30sp 20crit)
Chest enchant for your next chest should be +8 or (if you've got retarded money to burn) +10 stats.

Wow thank you for the megaton of info. I'm working daily on hodir, kirin tor is next after wyrmrest. (im going for Sandals of Crimson Fury - Item - World of Warcraft ) and i'm an enchanter so i can finish that up for the 10 stats.

I'll toss the card then for the sundial, the bell i know maybe not omg fantastic, but the replenishment really is helpful, especially for arcane for how fast i can burn through my mana. Thank you again!

Quite honestly you should be doing naxx25 at least, forget the upgrades from naxx10 unless you get the k't weapon

It seemed like he didn't trust/want to deal with the hassle of pugging 25 naxx, and there are some definite holes in his gear that 10 naxx could plug. Also, with a competent group, it's quite an efficient source of heroism badges.

Another thing I just remembered Guitarman is this little guy.

He's not spectacular but is better than anything you'll get out of heroics and at least as good as the one dagger from naxx10, but not the one off of KT.

Of course Naxx25 has a dagger and 2 swords that are better, if you decide to go that route. And 10-man Flame Leviathan drops a 219 iLvl dagger that's also nice. And there are staves that are pretty nice in OS25 and Malygos10, if you've got competent friends who can tackle those with you. I'm not sure why I fixated on weapons, but I guess my point is there are upgrades, if you can get in raids and win a roll.

And if you're not confident in "Joe Schmoe's OS25 raid," watch some tankspot/stratfu vids, familiarize yourself with good raid composition, get a good friend or two for key positions (MT, strong healer) and make your own damn raid.

No i really do appreciate it. I wasnt sure that the spellblade was worth grabbing, but i will now. (the mana loss hurts a bit, i'm strained to keep mana as is during prolonged fights).

You need the 2-piece t7 bonus, that extra mana from your gems makes a pretty big difference. Also try stacking your evocation with icy veins so that you're nuking again that bit faster.

Another thing to remember, you'll have VASTLY more mana regen in a 25 man raid, so many extra buffs than a 10.

Also, a friend said once you get to 490-500 haste raidbuffed i'd toss the Egg of Mortal Essence for anything else. Is he right?

That reminds me, I've got two Nobles Decks, one is going to be my trinket (STR) but for the other I want to save it until midway through June to AH. Which card do you think would sell best? Another STR? I don't know how good the other ones are, I just know the STR is still BiS for lots of melee DPS.

Agi is still best in slot for hunters definately, I would think for shams and rogues also.

probably not shams as they only get 1:1 on agi. Cat druids, however, get 1:2 like rogues and hunters.

All of them only get 1:1, but Druids have Heart of the Wild which technically makes it 1:1.1 and Agility also gives copious amounts of crit.

Kitty druids actually prefer agi for a good while until they get to 50% crit or something, I forget the actual scale.

Pretty much this except dont get t7 robes there junk go for robes from malygos you should be able to pick up a pug for this easy enough.

This is for the people who have done Firefighter on 10man. Do you use 3 or 4 healers? The damage coming out seems so intense and with 3 healers we still were manage to get P1 down very fast. Also, do you eat the water bombs in P2 or veer away from them and relocate onto the doused spot? And also in P3, do you have ranged killing bomb bots? We used to cheese it and have a pet take the hit while it was rooted but with all the doomfire I don't think we can do that. Lastly, do you leave the water bots out or kill them?
