You should be able to go to NR at 68-69. Also if you are using Fubar it also shows you recommended zones for your level when you mouse over on the zone you currently are at.

If you're fully rested you can. I went to NR at 68 and ran into a lot of silver quests, I suggest going at 70.

It's a great suggestion and works well, but if you dual monitor like I do, Questhelper on wow with Jame's guide on the other monitor was by far and away the fastest questing I've ever done.

I usually head to Vengeance landing at 68, do the first bit of quests before the lift and unlock the UK quests. Then I head over and unlock the Nexus quests and I'm often 70 or almost 70 at this point. Then I find a group for those instances and get epic exp. Nexus has I think 5 quests at 40k~ish a pop.

I think there are guidefiles for tourguide that use either jame's or kopp's guide, forget which one.

You can hit NR at 68 if you start in Howling Fjord. The quests there are a bit lower level (I mean, by like 1). If you follow TourGuide with a Jame guide plugged in, the only time you MIGHT have an issue if you weren't fully rested is when you try to take the weird chain that brings you to Dragonblight (solely because they don't fit in anywhere else). Aside from that, you can breeze through, and Borean is not going to pose a single problem because you should be 71 by the time you get there.

Alternately, you CAN just finish up outland quests to 70, if not a bit further if you decide to go for the loremaster title out there, and THEN go to northrend.

I "think" I tried that, and I really did not like it. Something was off or inaccurate about it, so I just went with the normal Questhelper (mainly for knowing exact positions of certain things on the map), and Jame's guide to tell me a good route to do them in as well as info on killing mobs that drop "this item begins a quest" items.

    That was a long sentence.

I think the MOST effective method for NR is Borean Tundra > Howling Fjord > Dragonblight. In my case my 68hunter couldn't pick up the druid quests in the center of BT. Also in most cases, 70 just rolls through the quests better. I did have a little trouble at 68 with unrested xp on one character. However on my Druid, which was 68 or 69 with rested, BT > HF> DB was a joke and I hit 80 off the first chain in ZD without ever touching Basin, IC, or any of SP outside of hodir chain.

When I leveled my Hunter last week, I went to Howling Fjord at 68. I couldn't get a couple of certain quests because of not being 69 so I went to Borean Tundra till I hit 69 then back to Howling Fjord. I hit another road block by not being 70 or 71 so back to Tundra and repeat. Think I ended at 73 after finishing both zone. Keep in mind, this is with Heirloom Shoulders and Chest.

Doing AV BGs is also an option to gain XP at 71.

If you have any heirloom items and leave outland at 68 you're doing it way wrong. You'd MAYBE brush up against the caravan quests in Terokkar where early LC rep builds by the time you ding 70.

Why wouldn't you want to leave Outland asap? There's a gear boost in quest rewards and you can start working on rep that actually matters a bit in Northrend.

Shattrath makes going to train your level 70 abilities much more attractive than dinging in Howling Fjord and having to hearth/boat ride back to town for the same. Call it personal preference if you like, it just seems much more efficient to skip visiting a trainer from 71-74 than from 68-74 if your interest is grinding out those levels.

Only mages and druids probably don't care where they ding 70. Every other class should make a smart choice about it.

Boggles my mind that they haven't added class trainers in HF/BT/Dalaran tbh

Only mages have class trainers in Dal. However, we can't respec there. Which is kinda odd.

It's not like it takes a long time to get anywhere that allows you to train anyway. I think I went like 5-6 levels without training from 70-80 though because I just wanted to get on with my grind. But had I gone there it would have only taken half hour max, not a big deal.

Im doing jame's guide in tourguide right now on my 4th char and with borean and half howling done its solid so far, and by using it on the previous 3 chars I pretty much know it by heart right now. Its just alot easier not having to alt-tab and check whats next from time to time. The arrow is kinda silly, but meh, its fast and easy

From doing his guides from 30-80 I feel that doing it with rested exp just lets you skip grinding parts and instances (something Im not really interested in after grinding them silly on previous chars)

Probably a stupid question, but where is the option to turn people's names into their class color in the chat box? The people I ask in-game are either clueless or had no idea it was added and I cannot find it in the interface tab where it says it was placed.

I think thats something you need an addon to do. Chatter or Prat do it.

Oh bleh, I guess I got notes for different things mixed up. I thought for sure that was one of the things they added to the actual game. Thanks for their names.

Edit: Nevermind, I found it. I looked in the interface tab where it said it was, but it was on the options you get by right clicking the chat box.
