It's not too late imo. Leveling has never been faster, especially if you do refer a friend. Even if not, mounts at such early levels makes questing so fast now. Having just a couple hours is why I like wow honestly. I can do a ton of shit solo and I can log in, do a few battlegrounds and casually play when I want.
You can get full 219/226 gear simply through spamming heroics right now. It at least gets you good enough to fill holes in NQ T8/9 runs. New or old, it's pretty easy to get up to par at this phase of the game.
Edit: And you can fill gaps even further with 213s by downgrading badges, not to mention occasionally getting a 245 from doing daily heroic
I'm not saying you can't get into endgame, as it stands endgame right now encompasses quite a wide gear/skill level. What I'm saying is if you want to get in to a guild that is going to have success in doing ToTC hardmodes and IC hardmodes you might be in for some trouble.
Any resto druids know if the 4pc t8 bonus is still gonna be worth getting after the nerf to it? I'm thinking of just bypassing it and grabbing t9/non-tier stuff for triumph emblems (it's an alt so I probably won't be doing uld25 with it much just because my server is a backwards hick server when it comes to raiding).
They're nerfing 4t8? Howso?
They're nerfing the heal by 50%. If you have a decent crit rate t9 will beat t8, especially if you pre-hot. This is assuming that there isn't a limit on how often Rejuvenation can crit though.Druid Tier-8 Healer 4-Piece Set Bonus: The amount of healing this set bonus grants on the initial cast of Rejuvenation has been reduced by 50%. In addition, this set bonus no longer has strange interactions with Harold’s Rejuvenating Broach.
I just tested it on the PTR, with 2239 bonus healing the instant heal healed for 743 and normal ticks healed for 1932 meaning that with 4pc t9 a Rejuvenation crit would heal for roughly ~2900.
About how much average DPS does it take to get Heartbreaker on 10 man mode?
10 man hardmodes are all pretty easy.
My ego hath been bruiseded. I made it to Hodir in my WoW healing career without a single healing addon - not even decursive. Just me and my ugly-ass (but oh so functional) X-Perl raiding frames and some seriously fast reflexes pluggin' along, and I am a kick ASS healer.
Hodir kicked my butt. Up until now, I've been almost exclusively main tank healing, and the situations I've been raid healing has been mainly immobile, laughably easy fights healing-wise (OS251D, VoA, etc). I discovered that I am not a good raid healer when I need to stay mobile. Moonbeams, bad runes, snowdrifts, cozy fires, avoiding the debuff and switching targets for raid heals kicked my ass, and I gave in and downloaded Clique.
Trees; what's your Clique keybinds? I'm trying to come up with a logical build (so far, I find shift + either mouse button to be awkward to reach), and it annoys me that I can no longer right click myself or someone else's frame to bring up the mini-menu.
Also; is there any way to display the total and current health values - or at least a health % - on Grid? I f'in hate either seeing just someone's health bar be missing "this much" or have it say -3.5k. I'd like to use Grid, but that one bit annoys the bejesus out of me.
Any other suggestions on how to make life easier on me and make me fail less in the future?
What are the gear requirements for 10 and 25 toc (for dps, though dps isn't as easy as asking for tank hp or healer +spell power), whenever I see someone putting a pug together they never say what they are actually looking for. Is wowheroes accurate? (it places toc after uld but I keep hearing toc is easier than uld so I don't know whats up)
My clique bindings are:
Left click - Regrowth
Right click - Rejuvenation
Alt right click - Lifebloom
Alt left click - Nourish
Ctrl left click - Swiftmend
Ctrl right click - Healing Touch
Shift right click - Rebirth
Button 4 - Wild Growth (this is the button on the side of my mouse :E)
To be able to right click people's names just go to Frames and turn off whichever unit frames you want to disable. For me it's Pitbull4_frames_player & Pitbull4_frames_target.
As for Grid, you might have an easier time by upping the threshold for Health Deficit to 100. It's under Status > Health > Health Deficit. If you do that, you'll see how much HP someone is missing as long as they're not at 100% health. I'm not sure about displaying a permanent %, you might have to edit the LUA.
For Hodir just pre-hot after the first flash freeze and every one after that. Rejuvenation on everyone and Wild Growth as soon as he uses Frozen Blows, then just keep Wild Growth on cooldown and spam Nourish. Sometimes he'll be a dick and use Frozen Blows before flash freeze in which case just spam Wild Growth, Rejuvs and Nourish on anyone and everyone.
Edit: I usually do around 50~60%+ of the healing for most (if not all) Ulduar fights when we're using 2 healers. 30~40% or so if we're using 3. Hodir's even higher though, makes me wet.
Thanks for the tips! :D Flash Freeze for me was a delicious oppertunity to catch up on everything, but Frozen Blows just... fucking blew. No pun intended. That's where things got out of hand for me. >.< I'll look into the Grid thing, because seeing missing health in numbers is what I -don't- want. If someone's missing a chunk of their health, I'd rather see like, "78%" or "14xxx/21xxx" instead of "-3.5k"
Forgive me, but I don't really understand this. Percentage is grossly misleading as 10% of my dps druid is some 2000 health different from a dps mage. As a healer in BC I always always found it more valuable to know exactly what kind of deficit I was looking at so I could toss a heal appropriate to the wound; No point in giving out a regrowth if a rejuv could patch up the entirety of what was lost (unless maybe I knew more damage was incoming and the extra ticks would be useful), etc.
tl;dr why is seeing the deficit number bad? Seems like it'd be a MORE concise way to tell what needs heals, not less.
Several reasons. It's annoying as hell. It makes me overthink things instead of just reacting. I have never had issues with neither percentages, using the wrong heals at the wrong times, or mana regen. I don't have a desire to heal with mathematics. It's the layout I'm used to seeing, and the layout I wish to continue seeing.
tl;dr I want things the way I want them, and as long as I can still do my job as well as any other healer (or better), I don't see why not.
