Idk I like death grip on tauntable mobs. Having it's recast shortened = more threat generated. If you want more dps in your tank setup then necrosis would be another viable option.

I'd need to see some math before I believed diving deep enough into Unholy for Necrosis is a bigger threat boost than 5/5 Bladed Armor.
You only dominate malganis by numbers arv, alliance were way more skilled!
Speaking of DK blood tank specs:
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
Viable? Y/n?
EDIT: Also, I wanted to play around with my DPS spec, and try out dual wield. Now I'm conflicted. I got laughed at by an entire guild (no, seriously - not my own though, thankfully) for not being a Dual Wielding Frost spec DK (I'm currently 2h Unholy DPS, and got laughed at for that too, because "nobody uses Unholy anymore!"), and they cited Threat of Thassarian as the allmighty talent to have. However, I'm poking around EJ, and none of their DW spec suggestions include that talent. o.O I'm confused.
Oh hey, it is kinda far in isn't it woops. Nvm about necrosis then. As for as blood tanking spec, I got mine from elitist jerks I think. Holy shit I do use scent of blood lol. Well then <_>. Idk anymore, I haven't tanked in forever and I don't really like to either. Rune tap isn't as useful as you'd think it was, it messes up your healers and usually whenever you would go to pop it you're capped off or something.
Do you guys ever use auto join when looking for daily heroics? How exacly does auto join work, like if there is a tank healer and 2 other dps all lfg the same heroic it will auto form the group for everyone?
auto join is functionally retarded and will fill your group with 5 rogues if thats whats in lfg.
Id skip the bloodtap and get 3/3 mograine for starters.
I checked out Suno's blood-spec, which feels kinda solid. Havent tried it cause I havent really pushed myself up to "end-game" tankings yet (dps shaman main atm)
I haven't used it since BC, but I know it didn't account for talent specs back then; so I as a feral druid would end up in a group with a warrior, mage, rogue, and warlock.
I think he's asking if anyone has tried it since they added the "choose your role" thing.
The answer seems to be no. I'm curious as well. Might give it a shot for VH or some crap sometime.
Yeah, Taunt isn't like FFXI Provoke. It's basically a "I lost hate and need to get it back" tool, keeping threat involves using all your other abilities. As a DK your two best threat abilities are Rune Strike and DnD, so if it seems like you're having threat problems and you're keeping up with those you probably need to check your ability rotation.
Threat is basically 1:1 with damage dealt, plus modifiers for various things; abilities that say "high amount of threat" basically have some bonus threat value above and beyond the damage dealt, and all of your generated threat is modified by your class/stance (Warrior in Defensive Stance/bear Druid generates 43% extra threat on all abilities used (used to be 30%, they upped it a bit so they could remove BoSalv and Tranq Totem); classes like Rogue natively generate 70% normal threat; etc).
I highly suggest reading Threat - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft for all the ins and outs, it really is quite different than how FFXI handles it. It's also good to know for fights where you have to taunt back and forth as well as understanding what you need to do first to get and keep aggro after threat wipes on certain bosses.
Yeah, rune strike is fuckin hot. Since I started out as DPS I always have a DPS mindset when I tank so I slip up and spam heart strike or something instead of setting down DnD like a pro. My hit/exp is low and I prolly parry haste myself a lot, and I need a less shitty weapon -_-.....
In all honesty parryhasting isn't nearly the issue it once was. Few things have a particularly fast swing timer to begin with so a parryhasted swing on occasion isn't going to outright gib you unless you're severely undergeared imo.
Expertise is still a good stat in that it gives more threat via fewer dodge/parry hits AND gives mitigation via the reduced parryhaste rate, but it's marginal compared to just about every other mitigation stat out there.
Hit can be important since your taunts are considered spells and thus subject to a higher than usual miss rate (I'm sure all of us have wiped to emalon at least once cause a tank missed the opening taunt), but also not the end of the world to not cap unless you're already basically mitigating as much as you realistically can and have enough health to take blows.
In either case I still wouldn't DW tank as DK unless there were some stupidly good one-hand (note: not main-hand!) tank weapons out there that made it worth the superlative miss rate and the extra parried hits.
yeah I don't like the idea of dual wield tanking. A 2h weapon will produce higher rune strike damage for moar threats.
What is the PvP hit cap for one handers? Also is it the same amount of Hit for Avengers Shield/HoJ.
Hit - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
PvP hit cap is 5% base, modified by player's avoidance%, racials (NElf racial) and talents like Arctic Winds - Spell - World of Warcraft. 5% is a good amount to aim for in general.
