On tank sure, on everyone else, it's annoying. I'm simply asking for the deficit number to be listed in the same format for everyone no matter what their hp is. It's easier and quicker to read this way.Not entirely sure what you mean but with the default settings Grid only displays the health deficit under a certain health %. Really though, if you're using your unit frames only to react you suck. Most damage is predictable and you should be casting before the damage is actually taken.
I would also like to see their hp % to be able to gauge how many hit a DPS can take before hitting the ground. I understand there is a "bar" in the background that fill up with their hp, but it's not visible enough.
I don't understand why you say that. I never healed a raid before, and the only time I healed a party was in ToC earlier, with a lv78 tank that had 14500hp (and 2 green dps). I'm simply asking for more/better tools to observe my party and take the right decision. Deficit alone give very little information. If it's enough for you, that's cool, but I know I could take better decision with both % and deficit.
I was trying to leave the party, but right clicking on my name was casting a spell, instead of bringing up the menu.If you mean how do you disable Clique when you're not in a party/raid just go to Frames and disable target, player, pet etc. (which ones you need to disable depends on whether you use pitbull, xperl or default) If you don't mean that then I have no clue!
I was asking if you can remap the normal "right click" to another key, without going through the menu to desactivate clique.
Either make the buttons bigger or stretch them horizontally and the the bar is much more visible. At least make the buttons wide enough you can see your targets health more clearly on the sides of mob debuffs.
I can't log in at the moment (account is temporary disabled) so bear with diagram but if set up right it should look something like this:
____________________
|_____| debuff |______| <~~player health (they can use a small heal)
|:::::: |or name|:::::::: |
|:::::: |_______|::::::: |
Seeing HP as percents is a no no, as some classes have way more HP than others and that can mean a big difference in the approach you take to heal them.
I will try that next time I log.
This is exactly why I want both deficit and % listed. Percent alone is obviously not enough, but deficit alone doesn't tell me who is in danger of dying the most.Seeing HP as percents is a no no, as some classes have way more HP than others and that can mean a big difference in the approach you take to heal them.
You might want to try a different raid frame make up- part of the draw about Grid is its simplicity (and compactness). Clique will work with *any* frames.
I've also heard rave reviews about VuhDo from lots of healers. It does what Grid+Clique does, but has more options and abilities to be configured. Might be more what you're looking for in raid frame displays.
Oh man VuhDo looks awesome, a lot better than grid at showing real information instead of summarizing with odd little icons everywhere...thanks for mentioning it![]()
Okay, here's my Armory for my Druid: The World of Warcraft Armory
I'm in my Feral Kitty stuff right now, which is what I'm wondering about. Some of my stuff does double duty for my Bear set (which is why there's some expertise gems in there). The thing I'm curious about- with the Armor Pen nerf coming soon, do you think I'd be better off gemming straight agility instead of the armor pen gems I have in there atm? My numbers are at the point (I believe) where right now, pre-nerf, I'll see more results from stacking armor pen... but I don't want to re-gem all my crap in like 2 months when JC's will start stacking up the price of agi gems.
Opinions? Also, any gearing suggestions you can make are appreciated- I leveled as Feral kitty, but just stacked agility and attack- since I've hit 80 I've pretty much been playing boomkin only until recently.
Use Rawr for specifics, but generally speaking the ArPen breakpoint relies on you also having a Grim Toll or Mjolnir Runestone so you can get the proc to carry you the rest of the way to the ArPen cap. Without one of these it's entirely possible that Agility will still win all the way through.
Don't take this the wrong way (elitist), I mean it helpfully:
You're not in the bleeding edge. You're not doing 25 man HM's or 25 man TotGC.
Whatever the short term benefits might be (zomg like .3%!), don't bother, go ahead and plan around your long term solutions. You'll be fine.
Armor pen is still the best stat for Ferals and most DPS classes after 3.2 btw. Nothing is going to change.
^this. just reaching the cap is a bit harder after the patch.
But aren't they nerfing ArP in 3.2.2?
Me being a SV hunter, I just stack agi. Yet I still have 400+ArP. When I heard about them nerfing ArP, I stopped attempting to get my grim toll.
not so much nerfing as making it harder to reach the cap by making each point worth less.
Maybe slightly OT, but would this pull WoW okay? Asus - Laptop with Intel® Centrino® 2 Processor Technology - White/Black - G51VX-RX05
is it just me or the announcer @ trial of crusader sounds alot like him

I play my cat with agi gemmed since I don't have a runestone or grim toll and I still do more dps than my main priest does. The two main reasons you wouldn't want to use armor pen are as follows:
1. Your ungemmed, unbuffed critrate is too low in cat form (~50% or lower?).
2. You do not have much armor penetration on your ungemmed gear (300 ArP or lower?).
Those values are approximate but you get the idea, if your critrate is too low you won't get enough combo points to maintain a healthy cycle, and if your base ArP is too low you won't gain as much of a benefit from ArP gems.
So I decided to gear my friends DK yesterday and was wondering if you could help me BG!
After doing a ToC 10 I ended up with The Grinder (The Grinder - Item - World of Warcraft) and Victor's Call. Previously he was Blood using a Jawbone but since I got a nice 1 hand I decided to spec frost.
This is the armory: The World of Warcraft Armory
I had a few questions though about Frost DK.
1) The rotation: From what I understand it is IT/PS to apply diseases -> Oblit until you can't Oblit anymore -> Blood Strike until you can't blood strike anymore -> Frost Strike until you can Oblit again or need to reapply diseases. Is that right?
2) Offhand. The offhand speed is 1.5, should I buy the Reaper of Dark Souls - Item - World of Warcraft Reaper of Dark Souls for an offhand until I get the ToC mace.
3) Glyphs. Is glyph of Icy Touch right? Rawr says that I shouldn't even be using IT and should be using Pestilence which makes me think I should be using that Glyph that refreshes diseases on Pest.
4) The four piece bonus. Since oblit is such an important part of the rotation, is it worth keeping the four piece T7.5 instead of getting the two piece T8.5?
5 and final) Gems. Rawr still says stack Strength no matter what, is that right? I hear so much about Experise, Armor Pen, and Hit (for DW) now that I am not too sure.
Realize this is a long post and thanks for any replys.
Edit: Also any suggestions for easy gear upgrades you can think of would be nice. I have planned out TOC and badge gear but if you know some awesome trinket that shits all over them that is green, do tell.
As far as I know, Blood Strikes first. You need to convert your Blood Runes into Death for an extra Ob/HB. EJ says Ob before BS which is true on a dps:gcd perspective but getting the BS out first gets you a spare Ob, and doing the Bloods gives your initial Frost and Unholy runes from the IT/PS time to cool down (which are also needed for one of those Obs).
IT-PS-BS/Pest(Pest to refresh/spread diseases, BS if not needed)-BS-Ob-Ob-Ob-FS dump, replacing one of the Obs anytime HB is up (or if Rime procs, throw it in, no runes etc).
EJ says dps to speed ratio is 5:0.1, meaning for every 0.1 speed faster than a 2.7, the weapon needs to be 5 dps higher. Based on that, the blue offhand would be better. I would hazard that rawr accounts for this, I don't know for certain though.
I have no idea why EJ recommends Glyph of IT...I can't imagine Frost is that hard up for RP, between all the abilities they can use to punch some out and the extra white swings with DW. Preferred spec imo is Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft, Glyph of Disease really makes life easy on bosses so you aren't having to reset your rotation halfway through because diseases dropped.
Rawr is pretty good at simulating set bonuses, if it says some piece not-T7 is better, then it already has accounted for breaking set bonus and still finds you coming out on top. Since your set bonus on t7 isn't inherently changing your play mechanic it's not a deal breaker (by contrast, my Druid's 4T8 bonus is going to hurt to break, the extra time on one of my major buffs really makes my life easy in terms of ability rotation).
Rawr's gemming is an interesting beast, it basically doesn't logically adapt gems, but rather looks at several predefined "sets" of gems and calculates them and ONLY them for optimum score on the slot. If you go into Tools -> Edit Gemming Templates you can see what sets are there already, and add your own if you like. Look at the list of individual gems on the optimizer list to see what specifically is best for a color type at any given time I suppose. But generally you don't need much/any hit beyond the requisite 8% special cap because you swing faster. More hit isn't *bad* as it means more procs off your weapons for BCB/KM, but not a requirement, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Strength gems reign supreme there.
