Either of you have your main guy's profile info hidden... and what about the 2boxed character?

In the POL viewer you can go in and make it so that people can't see your profile when doing searches and stuff, I don't remember how... haven't messed with it for years.

I'm certain that mine is hidden though.

Nope nothing's hidden for me or my taru, we're both up and online together, he'll get the messages and I won't.

I never got them while online but they showed up in my message box when logging in to POL just about every day, so I don't think it specifically has to do with being online unless they just happened to send it right after I logged off every time.

Well then, I'm stumped... seems rather odd that certain characters would get sent a ton of messages while others would be sent none at all.

They never sent me a message, definitely has to be something with you actually being online I'd think (I rarely ever log on and I never got even one)

EDIT: After seeing wafik's message, I don't think that's the case anymore, hmm.

It's likely to do with if you have actually used RMT services before, or you're on a forum that has an affiliation with them (e.g ads..forum selling off emails etc.)

BG has google RMT ads, so yeah.
Pretty sure it has nothing to do with your associations as ive heard of almost everyone get some sort of msn/aim/message/tell involving this in the past years.

The other night near my whole LS in sea got a tell and pol message at the same time.

I never received any of these messages on any of my POL accounts nor did my bf's account. I'm on just about every day and my profile does show in POL. Anyways, I'm glad to hear SE found a solution to this cause I know it was really annoying people.

Assumably these would depend on how enthusiastic your general RMT spammer is at their job. I'd guess they were making an alphabetical progression on players at 75, and those in zones of particular interest (assumably king camps, chasm, merit areas).

Maybe those earlier in the alphabet got the main bulk of messages while people with later letters got less as the spammer got more bored and slacked. I know i was getting one every few days, while my mule beginning with J was more like once a week, and my friends with X or Z beginnings barely got any.

Alphabet could have something to do with it - although my character's name begins with a C, my POL handle begins with a R - and I've never got the RMT message spam. My fiance's handle starts with a C (his char name starts with a R which I'd never noticed the reverse of my situation pattern until now) and he gets the RMT message spam a lot.

With the in-game /tell spam messages - I always get them but he never does - which makes me wonder if they're just running down the alphabetical lists and get hoiked off before they get to the end of the alphabet.

Would fit with Wafik if his taru's POL handle is the same as the taru name I guess as well?

Character name's Charismatic and my handle is called Invisible, heh.
I don't know, maybe in my case specifically it's due to not being online because both of those are near the beginning of the alphabet.

I just updated my POL viewer and now i can log back onto POL. Gives me a "Cannon move version update files" and shuts down. Any1 else have this problem or have an idea what to do?

Try checking that you don't have any process named pol.exe running in your task manager before launching pol.
