Yea...stayed at home with my girls all day then took my parents out to eat in austin. then otw home at about 8 passed a circut city closing sale went inside got a tetra of external hardrive for under 200 bucks and a digital frame for my mother in law for christmas for 60. then came home and got a 42 inch flat screen hdtv for 600 on overstock and no shipping....was a good day.

Home Depot wasn't too bad. I used to work at Gamestop, so dealing with people that just wanted christmas trees (and 3 carts of powertools... yeesh, that took 20 minutes to ring up)... it was nothing. My husband reported that someone'd been sitting outside his best buy since Wednesday night @1:30. They missed a day of work, and turkey... and there wasn't anything 'big' deal being sold on friday.

I grew up near that Walmart. When I was a kid, there was shootings at the mall and the movie theatre, so I'm not surprised that they killed yet another person. That place is nuts on normal days, always very crowded.

Sorry, but I've seen it too many times IRL. Serif and I have been at the doors of nightclubs that have cut off for square ft. limits at least 4-6 times and seen a huge mob of black people just knocking people over and breaking into the front doors.

The ratio is extreme because of a few factors, though one of the most apparent is this: the population of the United States is 80% white. It is inevitable that the majority of educated and/or rich people are going to be Caucasian because there are more of them.

The examples you used paint a perfect portrait of how people in poor, run-down areas -- regardless of skin color -- are not going to be as well-educated, well-mannered, and so on. Why?

For all we know it could be a relatively low population of people compared to the Wal-Mart in Long Island where there's easily millions of people living there. I read the story about the Wal-Mart and the last thing I was worried about was what races of people were involved.

Because the flavor of this thread is that if you point out a stereotype, you are seen as racist. Then again, I'm not the one saying that the behavior of black people and 8 year olds are similar (why you correlated that, I have no idea, it didn't help your cause). Seems like I needed to justify my stance on racism since people fail to grasp that most all stereotypes stem from a vain of truth, and when pointed out, makes you a racist. When black people talk to the younger generation about kdoing what they can do to break the chains of stereotypes, it's progressive. When a white male talks about those same stereotypes, it's racist.

Are you dense? If you live with cambodians for 7 years of your life, guess what, you have enough knowledge of that culture to have an opinion of that culture. There was a black guy here (maybe Mizango) who said they refused to go to theaters with black people because of it. Having black family members doesn't give you a free pass, but it gives you perspective you otherwise wouldn't have.
