I've been one of the first people on too. But this time, those two were on a bare minimum of 4 minutes before I was able to get on. Plenty of other JP players logged on after I did, so I guess it's some backdoor this LS knows about (Think they've had claim when Fafnir was up on server up every time I've been there) rather than Square going back to letting the JPs on 5 minutes before NAs as used to be the case.

Get a better connection or don't camp the play button, because you know that it won't update if you're still sitting at the play screen when maintenance ends..right? There's only "one" server right? There's no JP/NA/EU servers, it's all universal..so they can't log in before you unless you're on a slower connection or didn't allow the play button to refresh.

As for a 'backdoor' That's slightly impossible, because you can't get online if the servers are offline, so a backdoor would be useless till servers come up, and once they're up everyone is able to log in.

Yeah, my abnormally slow DSL is what allowed two people to kill all the Knight Crabs, wait for KA to pop, and start killing him before I was able to log in, despite /sea all showing 37.

And I didn't just sit there and wait for it to refresh, as I said originally.

What I'd previously heard is that if you let it disconnect you and don't confirm on the disconnect screen, you can jump straight back to the character select screen when maintenance is over. The problem with this is you need another account refreshing to see when the "Play" button is up in order to know when that is, so you save yourself like 15 seconds.

For two people to run around killing all the crabs, wait 15-30 seconds for KA to pop, and claim him, we're talking most likely in the area of 5 minutes if they're fast. They definitely aren't waiting on the signal to the client for the Play button to be available.

yes, but jp pol gets turned on first, then na pol so its entirely possible they had been on since the servers were turned on

Spam the shit out of Reload, get in as soon as the "Play" button is available, and log in to see two Japanese players have already killed off all the Knight Crabs and have King Arthro at 98%... Back to that bullshit again, Square?

It's pretty much been this nearly every single maint I can remember for the last 10 or so server restarts. Log in as soon as the button's up for NA client, and a few JPs have KA at 70-90%. Always.

And yes, this works. Came home to my desktop, saw it "no responsed" because I left it logged in, hit okay, went right back to the char select screen without reconnecting. I'd assume as long as you don't try before the lobby servers are available you can do this, but yeah, seriously, 15 seconds max, and that's IF you knew the exact second the play button was available.

tier 1: 2400
tier 2: 4800
tier 3: 7200
tier 4: 9600

All across the board, so I know its not just someone spamming one mob. I haven't noticed a change in points i get per soulplate, if this isnt an accident, congratulations on effectively removing an entire aspect of the game lol.

This is not new, server maint always resets ZNM prices to a high level. Wait a bit, it'll go back to normal.

You don't do much ZNM do you? XD

It's perfectly normal for trigger costs to reset to the supposed "average" value after server maintenance (read the "interview with ZNM devs" thread for more info regarding this behaviour). Just gotta wait about 1 RL day for prices to subside to their "normal" level (aka minimum).

Actually, I do ZNM a ton, just typically not right after a maintenance. Something around 30 sarameya kills now.

It's a pretty easy thing to miss untill you were hoping to do some ZNMs right after servers come up (which as you noticed isn't very practical)...

from what i understand, they actually turn on the world servers for a little bit, before letting players log in (turn on the lolpolloginserver)

But i do get the impression that a backdoor would get detected and quashed... that's a pretty bad piece of software vulnerability
