Am I only one who ever played that tetra master game that came with ffxi a few years ago?
Am I only one who ever played that tetra master game that came with ffxi a few years ago?
I started playing when I started FFXI during the super long FFXI maintainences and it was fun so I would play every once in awhile. But after getting screwed out of all my good cards to the cheating computer I said goodbye to that piece of crap. I think I still pay the extra $1 for it too since I'm too lazy to cancel it.
I always used to play it, and I randomly do now and then still.
I used to in like 2005 during maintenances. But kinda got bored/gayed with it.
tetra master will be revealed to be the secret to defeating PW/AV
Someone needs to ask about Tetra Master at the Fan Fest.
Never played it simply because it was not Triple Triad. Triad was a much better, much deeper card game. Tetra Master was a lot less complicated I felt and much more luck based. I used to play Triple Triad years ago when there were online client programs that let you play it. (This is where I met your beloved Maat's Cap wearing Geno)
Anyways, once you understood the rules to TT, there was no way a noob could beat you unless you were playing random/plus/same/combo/wall and just got dealt crap. And even then, not so much. Combo is the bane of my existence in that game. It's too damn powerful. Open is the remedy for that situation but not so much... Open is a much more challenging game though. That's where the real battle of wits is.
I totally agree Tetra Master wasn't really fun at all. Triple Triad was a quick match and wasn't stupidly random like Tetra Master.
The biggest problem was is the game should have been a minigame in FFXI that players could play NPCs and other players. Not only that they should made it so that the cards were worth something like either collect a whole set of monsters you get damage bonus vs them, etc. or able to trade them in for items. Aaah I can dream, maybe next MMO SE does.
the biggest problem is that you have to log out of ffxi to play tetra master =p
All other considerations aside, i think many players would be playing (maybe even paying) if tetra master could be played within ffxi... letting you LS chat/trashtalk and monitor zone shouts/pt invites, etc.
If i'm logging out of ffxi, i'm logging out... to go out, to play fallout 3, etc. I'm not logging out to play tetra master =p Tetramaster is supplanted by DS and PSP (and xsux, wii, and ps3 to a degree).
