Best Boot-time Antivirus/Malware remover?

I'm in need of a programs (shareware or freeware, either is fine) which can remove viruses/fix malware during the boottime sequence without going into Windows.

Can anyone recommend any good ones? The only thing I can really find are McAfee and Avast! BART CD.

McAfee is the only one I know of that allows you to scan without booting into windows.. can you not get into safe mode?

on my friends computer we are not able to boot into safemode (f8) and we are not able to access anything on his PC once booted (shortcuts, ctrl alt dlt, etc.) as if it freezes his screen to prevent access permanently.

time to fdisk get a IDE->USB cable and hook it up to another computer to extract data, and then just wipe it. Gonna be a lot easier than trying to clean it at this point.

might try bartPE w/ one of the AV plugins.

Get a random boot cd, go into the target drives System32 directory, sort by date, remove anything that has been modified since after, like, 7/1/08.

That normally removes the DLLs/EXEs that are you main evil viruses.

Extra points if your boot cd has AV software like above noted

We ended up going this route. His PC looks like its completely screwed at this point. Even if we run boot-time malware diagnostic/scanners they lock up the computer upon removal attempt.

Anyways thanks, guess I'm going to backup his existing data, and start him over on a fresh copy =/.

SmitFruad is probably the best one out there for general malware and hosts file hijacks.
