    that's actually a remarkably common way of doing it especially in older fps games. look at a speed run of perfect dark for example and you'll notice the players with the lowest scores will always run at a 45 degree angle to where they're going. same reason.

    Oh, I did that too when I first started, I guess I thought this was more like Diablo than what this actually is.

    No No, Thats all wrong. You have to hit their hand that is holding the bomb with your weapon to get them to drop it.

    Yep, and when the mob still hit my character, I thought I wasn't moving properly.

    It is really helpful if the mob happens to be moving, or if you have many mobs you can bounce it around to make a better path

    i first noticed it in campaign where the nms that gravityga generally bounce hate enough to always be moving, so you can swing around to right where they were going to be
