Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

It took me longer than 10 hours to complete(didn't even bother with treasures yet, 23/100.) and it was incredible...I don't remember a single chapter that I can call less-enjoyable than others. You can't call this game "short" because it simply isn't, every single location/city is completely unique and super fun.

No backtracking, no stupid time wasting crap, nothing. Plus, the hint system. With all incredibly frequent checkpoints and everything it should even be considered "long" compared to other games out there.

A campaign mode like this is much better than 20 hour long, repetitive and uninteresting crap.

Also, there are crapton of unlockables, great replay value(even though its fairly linear) and a terrific multiplayer mode.

GOTY...or heck, game of the generation and one of the best action games ever made.

Only thing I didn't like.. so far (haven't beaten it yet) is that they make you do the train escape twice. However, I do like how they changed it up a bit the second time around...and edited out some of the climb.

I also think they needed to put a little more work on the transition from train intro scene to heist planning. It was action in your face platforming followed by a lot of dialogue and you don't shoot any bastards for maybe an hour... But after that, the game grabs your attention and never lets go.

Shame that it means Chloe won't be back though, I love Claudia Black so much.

Spoilers aside, holy shit I had a great time with this game. Definitely the GOTY. Now onto multiplayer again. :D

I played the first one but I can't remember if they put some of the treasures on the walls like they did in this one. Does anyone know? It took me about 8 chapters till I started looking up as well as down to spot treasures.

Yeah, I missed a few on purpose because I wasn't expecting them to pull the RE4/5 bs with shooting the gems down. I figured I had to do some weird gymnastics to get to some. I'll end up doing a very easy run to farm them all, but still, eugh.

Also another note on the multiplayer front, I hate how the game won't even attempt to balance people by their rank. I know rank != skill, but when you have a team of 5 with ranks of 14, 15, 22, 27, and 12 (like earlier) vs 9 (me), 4, 11, 1, 2, there's just a *tad* bit of a bias there.

Still though, there are still so many laugh out loud moments in multiplayer. Earlier today I was dicking around with the RPG on the temple level, killed someone, then I was ganged up on by three guys at once. I dropped a grenade as they all ran up to melee me (it was on elimination mode) and won the round for our team with a 3 for 1. :3

The 4 new maps in multiplayer are sweet. Besides the train wreck, they seem to be way more detailed and expansive than the maps they had in the beta. The train wreck just hurts my eyes from straining too much.

At least they tell you how many treasures are remaining per chapter in the chapter select.

Bugged the shit out of me having to create a check-list of treasures I had vs. what I didn't have to determine which chapters I had to revisit to find them at.

And I just clocked in at 10 hours, 2 minutes on Hard difficulty. Time to mess around with online.

Campaign or game length has never hindered a game from receiving a goty award, games are judged mostly on sales anymore, anyway, and all of its parts. If your going to rage about a game getting goty for a 10 hour campaign you should have been raging the last 5-6 years, so at this point you must have some pent up nerd rage.

Such a stupid argument anyway, just play the god damn game and enjoy it, it's by far one of the best games this generation, easily.
