I'm interested to see how Swarm will play out in the game. This sounds like a fun opportunity for everyone to participate in :D

Anyone asked if they are planning to add a new WS for Great Sword? and what would be the hidden attack bonus for the ws like Gekko, spinning slash and ground strike?
You begin by saying that someone else cannot understand the worth of these new avatars because they havn't reached level 69. Then you say that the reason smns are interested in new avatars is because they want to know if they'll ever become real summoners leveling up. Whats the fucking difference to you if you've already "slaved" through your levels to 69 barefoot, in the snow, uphill, both ways?
I have no doubt that if obtaining these avatars is anything like diabolos, you'll be the first person shouting about how 75 smn's are more entitled to obtain the avatars first than lower level smns. Someone que the "I made it to 75 gimme my rewardz!" card please.
The entitlement complex many players have in this game is astounding.
Kenji, you need to stop telling people what they can or cannot say. Many people on BG have a firm understanding of the game's mechanics and how they work with jobs. For example do you think the guys who discuss haste builds have every single melee job leveled? No.
tl;dr: Shut up.
If Ground Strike has a hidden attack boost, Steel Cyclone does too, it's the same exact WS with Gsword changed to Gaxe and 50% Str/Int changed to 50% Str/Vit, besides the SC property swap.
I've never noticed a hidden attack boost on SC, or Gstrike, they do EXACTLY the damage I expect them to do when I calculate the numbers, just like KJ does.
I think people just need to relearn how to calculate WS modifiers?
50%+ Str mod on a WS with high fTP is jesusborked, thats whats up with Gekko, not some magical hidden attack boost.
You completely missed my point. And put words in my mouth. You should really stop that.
SMNs want to be real summoners leveling up, and at end-game. SMN is more useful at 75, then leveling up, but it's still been pushed back and back with the rise of the melee, until it's nothing but a small niche job. New specialized avatars *could* allow a summoner to actually play as a summoner leveling, and allow SMNs to bring more worth to end-game events, enough to actually deserve a spot. Since you lack imagination, let me spell it out for you:
New Melee Avatar - only a couple of BPs, both offensive, but does more melee damage and attacks faster than the ones we have. Costs the same as carby. Allows a SMN to play like a melee in parties.
New Tank avatar - Cheaper than carby, a couple of BPs that don't do much damage, but perhaps drain life from the target to replenish the avatar's HP, the SMNs MP, and generate enmity.
New Healing avatar - cheaper than carby, something you can leave out that perhaps gives a passive regen to the party. A couple of Healing BPs. Or Melee attacks heal the party.
Now, granted, SE could screw this up and fix nothing. But these are just a couple of ways SE could address things. The old avatars would remain "versatile" while the new ones are "specialized."
You'd be dead wrong. But then, that's nothing new for you, is it? If anything, I'd love to see lower level SMNs get these avatars, so they can play as Summoners while leveling up. Often times, you get more insight into avatar usage while leveling up, then you can while playing with it at 75.I have no doubt that if obtaining these avatars is anything like diabolos, you'll be the first person shouting about how 75 smn's are more entitled to obtain the avatars first than lower level smns. Someone que the "I made it to 75 gimme my rewardz!" card please.
And BRP, you really need to chill. Suggest you walk away from the forum, take some deep breaths, count to 10, etc.
The idea of a tanking Avatar is broken and retarded. If some of the Avatars we already have could stay alive longer and hold hate, then shit would be too easy.
What time are the interviews and whatnot going down today?
Personally, I would kill to see some form of Ballista / Brenner updates. I dont care what anyone says, I have had more kicks and laughs from Ballista than any other event on this game. And I am not even into PvP that much. Last time I ever did a Ballista / Brenner was last year I think. But oh well, maybe in the future.
I never fully understood why people bitched about leveling SMN, just like PLD who bitch about not getting exp invites as they close in on 75. Everything has it's purpose and if people would realize their niche for their job it would be much better. @,@;
On Topic; Does anyone know if we're expecting any new information tomorrow when they update ? I wasn't sure if it was a safe assumption that everything had been released (although wouldn't surprise me).
Please direct all SMN talk to my awesome SMN thread, and keep this fanfest related.
<---- Insert obligatory "You're dumb, I'm smarter TEHEHEHE" comment here.
I love how SE not giving you what you want is "screwing up and fixing nothing."
PRO TIP!!!! Click your mog. Push the down key four times. Push enter. Select a new "versatile, overpowered melee job." Level!
You know.... maybe you can even put a whiny search comment about how SE needs to "SAVE THE SUMMONERS" while you seek.
Edit: Sorry Kuno. Didn't see your post until after I posted.
Has anyone else seen the shots of new statuette furnishings? One of our guys just posted photos of MH furnishings that are statues of DL, the Ark Angels, and a group of Cardians. They're pictured on top of tables or desks and look really nice. Part of Adventurer Appreciation?
If it's already been discussed and I missed it (due to all the SMN talk) then apologies. If not, I can try crossposting from our LS board - the forums are closed to nonmembers.
Yes, but they're not the final design. They're interested in inplementing something like that.
Right now they're just actual models, though, I think the cardians look finished.
Edit: Also, on that note, Fan Fest 08 codes do not work until the update, right?
Off the top of my head I can think of one new avatar ability that, just by itself, would instantly make SMNs attractive to parties -- an ability to cast a refresh (or refreshga). That being said, I doubt SE would ever put something like that in. They would consider it unbalanced, or maybe somehow philosophically incompatible with their idea of the job.
Yup, that's the problem WHM and BLM has had to face as well. WHM has managed to keep a role, because of /sch and because it is there to support melees.
On the other hand, BLM is at best orthogonal to melee-intensive play, and often downright incompatible -- which is why BLMs solo and manaburn up to 75 these days. If SE does the same thing for SMN as it has for BLM (Puddings, Qiqirn RNGs, more BST pets), expect the solution to be the introduction of additional SMN-oriented solo camps.
When they do come out with the update info tomorrow it's prob gonna be all the stuff we already know, unless they saved something for the day of the update. Other then that don't see much happening.
Also, I took some pictures as well.

PW is Youwillneverknow.
Yes.
SMN at 75 is fine because it's situational like most job in this game. If you want to fullfill differents role in a group of players, level something else.
Milkman interview wasn't bad, but it make me want not buy those expansions. I seriously feel like we are getting scammed when you compare this to a normal expansion pack.
