As for an entire thread of BG being more retarded than the wiki forum... well... at least I don't see anyone advocating giving Dark Knights Ultima here without being shot-down posthaste.

The BG Square Enix Suggestion Forum was shut-down after major success because our Japanese Translator (Elmer the Pointy) no longer had the time to translate our suggestions. I'm sorry that he's far busier with making bank to afford the time to cater to our whims. The only reason BG isn't a premier site is because we choose not to be. If we were, 90% of the posts here would be gone- not only the ones you talk about, but others too. No more would there be the image threads, parser threads, or anything of the sort. A shame, too, because those parser threads really do tell us so much about the game! The image threads, though, all about the illustrious end-game community. Duh.

Almost all of FFXIclopedia's information pertaining to Endgame probably comes from BG, and they damn well know it. It's a shame, really.

I bet you haven't seen the inside of Salvage, much less even begun on the Spharai toted in your signature. Seriously, I hate those forums, I don't visit them. I visit these forums because there is some good information around. I'm sorry if you have 'hate' for an internet forum of all things. My major problem is with the so-called 'advanced' section because it is usually anything but advanced and the users who post in it like to act like their somehow superior because they have Ridills coming out of their ass.

Why is it a shame that the wiki has endgame info from BG? You going SapereAude now and saying sharing information is a shame? There's absolutely nothing wrong with sharing information between communities for the benefit of the community.

There's three major problems that I see with BG being a premier site:

1. A large number of hostile users(including moderators)
2. Very, very niche community
3. It's specifically associated with a single linkshell

Those are just my opinions.

I wasn't around when there was a suggestion forum so I won't talk about that. I do know that far more than a couple things from the wiki suggestion forum have been implemented and liked by the community(even this one).

As to my sig...It's a fucking sig. I made it to look pretty and I link my LJ right under it. I also have my gear shown on FFXIAH. I would never get Spharai but Destroyers look ugly as hell in a sig. I don't do Salvage at the moment because I'm not in an endgame shell right now but I would like some Usu feet to go with my Black Belt and Faith torque if you're really that concerned. I hope you didn't put a lot of money on that bet .

SE offered BG premiere status. BG declined since we would have to clean up our acts and not talk about windower and stuff. We said fuck that, we don't want to kill the community.

Anyways, let's address those complaints directly.

1. Boo fucking hoo. We're far less confrontational than we used to be and in newbie (now standard) discussion you can ask/say whatever you want and be respected. Advanced? You will get judged.
2. Yet still much, much larger than most (all?) of the other premiere communities.
3. Other premiere sites are associated with one linkshell.

Oh, please. I what I get from Tamas is the same as what I get from the Genius and Serenity Rings combined with my Loquacious. I don't need it, and assuming I did, it's not like I couldn't drop the Rajas and pick up a Tamas anytime I pleased(snowball's chance in hell of that).

You probably dont do salvage too much and i could understand that, but phalanx2 imo at least for me is the best merit rdm can have, as well as slow2 i guess, full merited make me be lazy on salvage, just keep it up on dd's and i can forget to heal in some floors during salvage like farming ramparts in bhafau remnants.

Can cost more mp but the amount of mp i save from cures is great. (talking about salvage)

I do salvage more than I would like to honestly, it was my initial reason for meriting it. It's just after seeing sch aoe enhance, I don't think it's fair I had to waste merits for a weaker version when a simple ability addition could give me full potency. ;_;

#1: lol? You get those on every forum, hands down. You are being a hostile user here right this very minute.

#2: Which community, pray tell, is all encompassing? We try our best to meet middle-game up here. I'm sorry if that's too niche for you, but I see hundreds of people doing "end-game" on my server alone. [Einherjar, Sea, Sky, Limbus, Salvage, Kings, ZNMs hell half of those aren't even really end-game anymore, so I can't see this being "very, very niche"]

#3: I'm pretty sure quite a few premiere sites started out that way. The fact remains BG was approached to being a premiere site several times, and turned it down every single time.
