@Rocl: As to hostile users I said there's a large number here. I'm a member of several FFXI forums and I visit most of them every day. No other site has as many hostile members as this one does(in my experience). Me? I don't care if you think I'm being hostile. I was responding to your (uncalled for)hostility towards the wiki forums. While the wiki forums aren't "all-encompassing" there's a wider range of topics there and if you want to talk about endgame you're free to make a topic without being ridiculed. You may not get a lot of responses there but that's not the point.

Endgame is still very niche. 200 people in Aery? There's no way that's a minority when there's 2k+ people online, right?

I'm not sure if SE changed their attitude or what but Aikar has a group for Windower over at the wiki forums and it is discussed pretty regularly. There's also a link to Windower.net from the wiki. I was unaware SE offered to make BG a premier site. That's my mistake.

I wasn't bitching about anything until Rocl felt like pretending BG is the superior FFXI community. Each forum has it's own purpose. I only visit this sub-forum for event/patch note threads and I usually read threads in standard.

Not going to get into the wiki sale drama because it's probably something we'd never agree on anyways.

This forum and your broad definition of endgame is far from niche. If theres any info you want about FFXI, you can find it here. From some crazy random NM that nobody ever fucking fights to chocobo raising to even pankration (theres a whole forum dedicated to it). Sure, a lot of people come here for the super amazing end game drama, and awesome strats for AV/PW (lolol), but we have everything you could ever want to know here. As for hostile mods, I don't think I'm hostile (I'm probably the nicest one >.>;;; ) but every forum has mods who dont put up with bullshit so why is this even a point to bring up? Oh wow, it's the 20th stupid AV theory thread (with no proof) today. You'd get sick of it too.

I just got home this weekend, and I'm trying to sift through all this Q&A bullshit. Was there anything new that wasn't discussed at JP fanfest besides that anything we might possibly want isn't comming until at least Spring 2009?

Dont' think FoV and and th chests spawning on death of mobs has been mentioned much.

Gear for chests seems not bad, +5 str on a lv 20 piece of gear? Hell yeah, but it would've been nice at lv 15m, cause at 20 we're leaving not entering valkurm =/

I'm guessing it'll be similiar to hot and cold, chest spawns and you're the only one who can open it.

Wonder how they'll set up the picks for pts? Does only the person who lands killing blow get to pick the lock? Or do you have to work as a team?

FoV? For people who like killing shit and getting more exp than they did before, =D

Wonder if the FoV book will move around, or if it just sits there ad the mision is same every time? Would make it easier, as long as the book is near camp, would suck to have to run all the way across map to kill 1 mob >_>;

On the other hand, if it is like that, then say, in sauramauge the mob is skinks. Well you get like 3-4 people doing that and suddenly every damn skink in the area is extinct, may be a little hard to keep it going, some respawns may need to be tweaked 5 days after this update... Unless SE thought ahead to this probl- wait what am I thinking?

Because end-game is restricted to Dragon's Aery? More than 200 people participate in Salvage per server. More than 200 people participate in Limbus, Einherjar, Dynamis, ZNMs (Later Tiers), Sea NMs, Sky NMs, in addition to the HNMs, like Sandworm, Khimaira, Tiamat, etc. Btw, what else draws 200 people to ONE zone? It's so niche! You could even argue Nyzul is kind of a baby endgame, but then again so is Limbus and lower Sky/Sea stuff these days. I mean, really 200 people out of 2000 in ONE AREA for ONE NM. And it's niche? Really?

I was told by the administrators of BG that when we were offered premier sitedom it was on the condition we make the forum totally work-safe and stop advocating certain third party tools. (Windower, mainly) It was weightily discussed between the current BG Admin Team & the Forum Users (there was a pool, I believe) and we ended up saying No.

Copied from something that actually updates. Yeah some of my subs need work(BLU and DNC) but I only use them for solo so they're low-priority.

Just going to skip to your BG isn't the best comment... I am sure criteria is different for everyone, but when it comes down to basic uses of message boards you won't find a better site.

Look FFXIclopedia is basically a noncontender here. It doesn't compare to either Killing Ifrit and Allakhazam in population let alone quality of knowledge. The "elitist" mentality people like to bash BG about has created an incredible knowledge based site. Moderation knowing how to play the game efficiently and judgmental community has acted as quality control. Look at it this way: these "assholes" want to know about the game. Don't get in their way and you will profit from their efforts. Go into Newbie and ask a question about Chocobo Raising and you'll get an answer as good as or better than you would find on Allakhazam. "BG IS SERIOUS BUSINESS" is basically silly talk. If this was a fighting game community, these critics would be called "scrubs."

BG does have its flaws, oh boy. But it's still the most functional NA site. Enjoy it while it lasts or learn Japanese.

My ls doesn't camp anything that's contested but still does sky, sea, limbus, dynamis, einharjar, bahamut. I actually care about kings because it affects an endgame shell, regardless of if you choose to camp or not camp them.

Wasn't kicked, left. I dropped my pearl. Abandoned a sinking ship too apparently because they're a social shell now and the more pimped members joined MercuryX. All the details are in the LJ entry anyways.

I finished BRD sub* before I joined that shell as BRD if you really insist on knowing. Prior to joining that shell I only used BRD for random crap(originally leveled for CoP).

I think you're trying to take me too seriously. I argue for the sake of arguing a lot. I do believe BG is too hostile though(stay in standard, etc lol).
