Less than 1GB RAM
1GB RAM or more
2 on my laptop
Browsing the internets with my Windows 3.1, AOL 2.0, 32 MB of RAM 166 Mhz processor. Playing DOS only games like a pimp!
Ugh I was on my mom's machine over the holiday.. thing's fuckin ancient. 256MB of PC-800 memory (not even DDR!) At least the processor was still decent - P4 1.8gHz.
It made me appreciate my machine so much more when I got home.
4 gb on my work computer. 2 gb on my desktop, 512 on my laptop.
4GB.
Been working at school with less than 1GB, and it makes me sad.
Until about 2006 most of the Canadian banking websites did not work properly with FF/Mozilla in their online banking applications.
Sadly, the website that's being developed for a gov't project I'm working on does some weird formatting things in FF; clearly they've only optimized it for IE. I informed the IT firm we've contracted out that this really isn't acceptable in 2008 but they still haven't done anything to fix it. It's not a huge issue, mostly just graphics and fonts that don't display at a correct alignment, but for a government website that's pretty shitty. Oh well, I'm done on this project in a month when my employment term ends and it's not like I had authority to make them fix it anyway.
Just built this pc.
4gb using vista ultimate 64bit, corsair dominator w/fan
3.16core2duo
4870x2
150gb 10,000rpm drive
640gb 7200rpm drive etc etc
4gb on dell lappy
2 gb on one office comp i no longer use
1.5 gb on my old gaming rig i no longer use
4gb on my macbook pro
ram is so cheap its almost a shame not to have over 2GB
Main system 4GB, laptop 1GB, but it's on XP (nLite'd) and just used for internet/word processing.
4GB in my main machine, my living room machine, and my laptop. My old desktop had 3GB, but I gave that to a friend. So all my current boxes at home are 4GB.
My Mac Pro here at work has 6GB, but 32-bit Windows on Mac Pro boot camp can only use 2GB for some reason.
I have some Pentium 3s, a Pentium 4 mobo, and a Powerbook G4 hanging around at home that have 512MB or so I guess, but I don't really use them anymore.
I've had 8GB for about 6 months. It doesn't seem like overkill when running 6 FFXIs, media player, firefox w/ about 5-6 tabs, and a bunch of other programs all at the same time.
Site dependent on visual basic crap? Mostly corporate tool type stuff though. Windows Update specifically doesn't work with non-IE, though you have workarounds for that.
Netflix also requires IE 6+ for their streaming, so anything based on similar software would probably need it too.
4gb, but I do my gaming in Vista32, so I guess technically I have more like 3.3gb for gaming.
8GB
There are plugins for FF that emulate IE. Problem solved.
1TB
