    Tried building for the first time, hit a snag

    So I assembled the parts together, and when I turned it on, all the fans/dvd drive/motherboard LED/ video card LED/ and fan LED's worked. However, I'm not getting any beep test or BIOS screen on the 3 monitors that I've tried. I'm fairly clueless on what to do, any suggestions would be helpful.

    remove everything except one stick of ram and the video card, try to boot that and see if it posts, if yes, add pieces one by one until you find the problem. If no, cry a manly tear, come back and we'll think more

    Do you have all the power connectors hooked up? Not just the main ATX connection, but the 12V cables to the CPU and video card as well?

    ...I'm a fucking idiot. That's what I get for staying up until 3 AM fixing this shit.

    Thanks to all who helped me on this project, I had a lot of fun putting this shit together and I learned a LOT from this. Thanks!

    Installing the OS right now, and I've never overclocked yet. You configure all that stuff on the BIOS screen yeah?

    You know I just built one yesterday and I was having the same problem, except I did have everything plugged in. I get a POST only when I disconnect the monitor, but after the POST I can plug the monitor in and everything works fine.

    I don't get it and have yet to find a solution for it. -_-;

    yes, but it's not near as overwhelming as you think. This link will explain what you need to know for your chip/mb: HOWTO: Overclock C2Q (Quads) and C2D (Duals) - A Guide v1.1 - Overclockers Forums

    alright, well now I have another snag. A few minutes ago, I was installing language packs when someone blew a fuse with the hairdryer. Now, safe mode works, but my screen is blank when Vista boots normally

    edit: never mind, uninstalled my 4850 drivers and reinstalled

    Heh.. you should see what happens when Warhammer crashes to desktop.

    Or more accurately, you should see the many different screwed up things that can happen. I managed to get a new one last night..
