Heh, you were right. Found it at TRU yesterday after I wasted a trip to Best Buy, Walmart, and Target first thing in the morning.
Went to TRU on my way home without actually expecting to find it, and I get to the games section and this couple is buying one. I was thinking it was just my luck to see them buy the last one, until I asked the guy behind the counter and said "yep, we have some". w00t!
Then I did something that made me feel good...a guy behind me in line asked for a Wii, to which the guy working the counter said they were out. Just so happens I saw two at Target 10 minutes before hand, so I caught up to the guy on his way out and told him. He goes "thanks!" and then runs to this truck and peels out of the parking lot. LOL. I hope he got one.
LOL yeah.
Well...the good news is she's as skinny as a rail. Her entire mother's side of the family is so they have good genes.
And to her credit she does like playing Wii Sports alot, especially tennis. She's not really doing this for the exercise. Just the gaming. If the gaming sucks and she doesn't use it all that much, then I'll have something to throw at her when we argue. =)
I really don't get why wii fit is as popular as it is.
People are just fucking kidding themselves if they honestly believe that shit will get them to lose weight.
I can't imagine the developing board for this game...maybe it'd go something along the line of:
Team member #1: Well...americans are stupid
Team member #2: and fat
Team leader: Let's try capitalizing on those.
But who knows? Maybe I'm just fucking biased, or just a realist that doesn't believe in running on the spot in front of the fucking TV for 5 mins would actually get you the hot bods you've been dreaming of.
As the OP noted later on, there are people who just want to play it to have fun with it. While a lot of us wouldn't think of it as an exciting addition to our collections, some people would.
When it comes to the folks who do genuinely think that's all they need to lose weight, I'd argue they have other, bigger problems.
Er, pun not intended.
Besides, getting her the Wii last year and the Wii Fit this year basically ensures I'll be able to play other Wii games and my PS3 without being guilt-tripped by her for playing too many video games.
