I hate the smug asshole looking face the guy on the right has.

Well, a self-skillchain for 0 at 1% doesn't even rule out the possibility that he needed to self-skillchain to kill, it could just mean his magic spell and WS both did 0 damage. Could just mean he needed to do it starting from 3%.
A short list of proposed solutions I saw skimming the thread:
1) Self-skillchain from higher than 1% so your hits do damage.
2) Use Wightslayer to kill him.
3) Some kind of emote, a-la-Odin.
4) Save up 300TP and kill him with a level 3 Aftermath
5) SE is gay and made the BCNM unbeatable until they finish testing their mythics.
Call me cynical but I'm banking on this one.5) SE is gay and made the BCNM unbeatable until they finish testing their mythics
I'm telling you the people at SE are Satan worshipers. Have been since FF7 >_>
Seriously that is *balls*. Tizona is one of the weapons I'm interested in going for as well (Nirvana being the other since I <3 SMN and Leavateinn is just epic fail)
Any details on the fight yet? Like what does Zahak do? Does Balrahn use your 2 hour?
I'm betting the vigil weapons are the key here. They are designed to balance the power of the mythics and if the Nyzul WS doesn't work this is the only thing that makes sense other than some kind of quirky bull shit gimmic (i.e. he had to use chain or burst affinity to finish him off)
Maybe you need to have ATNM Test title to kill it?????
I suck at photoshop, but...

Someone on the last page suggested maybe the BC is bugged. Along those lines, for the mission and quest BCs that are programmed to end when the target is not dead but 20% or 30% or whatever, if you do enough damage at the end to kill them, will they die, or will they stay at 1% until you get the cutscene? If it's the latter, then it could just be that the cutscene trigger didn't happen, either because SE fucked up the BC, or because there is some other condition you need to fulfill to end it.
SE fails on all levels.. Imagine this shit "I'm about to be the first person to unlock mythic just 5% more to go" Then you WS and it's at 1% now you sitting there like WTF! I think it's about time people stand up and say we don't like the reward system in this game and have like everyone cancel their account til they fix the shit.. Why do you have to choose between killing PW or giving the pop items to one person for a mythic fight..
True but then considering this was said:
As if the 30,000 Alexandrite requirement isn't a large enough hurdle.. seriously... The number of Mythics that get fully upgraded will never reach the amount of RoTZ relics due to the sheer amount of effort that has to be put into the mythics.Up through tier-3, the trigger items for the next tier always drop, but then tier-4 has a low drop rate. What was the reason for setting it this way?
Itou: The final tier monster is a exceptional compared to the others, and we wanted to set it apart. If you can get there easily, the value of it fades. (laughs) Also, the items are tied to the acquisition of Mythic Weapons. If there were tons of these to go around, it wouldn’t be much of a hurdle anymore, hence the low drop rate.
Just a random thought, but does Aftermath apear as a status icon from what people saw at fanfest? If it does maybe theres a chance he could voracious Trunk it and see what happens from there.
He should have called a GM about a bug.
See that's where it gets fishy. On Mission 5-2 for all nations vs Shadow Lord, on the 2nd half of the fight (the shit easy half), once you get him down to 1%, there is about a 20~50 second delay before you get the CS. During that time, you'll still be able to do excessive damage to him, but he never drops below 1%, the CS just pops up. On the other hand, vs Tenzen in CoP 7-5, or Maat in some cases, the BC automatically ends when you chop off enough HP.
So yah, more than likely a fuck up on SE's end, or it's definitely got some kinda Brigandish Blade 1% Invincible trick going on.
Well, that's kinda what I was asking about. Like if a battle is supposed to end when the mob is at 20%, if at 21% you do 22% damage in one shot (or within a very short period of time), will the enemy die, or will it be 1% and then the cutscene starts?
It could be that this BC is supposed to end at 20% (or whatever), due to shitty programming it didn't get triggered to end, and the guy was forced just to wail at him hopelessly to 1% until he timed out. I think the dialog suggests that he doesn't actually die ("Wow, you've got a lot of power, a new legend begins" or something, I don't have time atm to look through for it exactly). But I guess that could go either way.
....................
They have to make the fucking things 100% now. If you didn't need them every time you failed, sure, low drop rate. Bullshit, but I could understand it to a point. This, however, just makes it pointlessly difficult. The attestation phase of relic doesn't fuck you ever like this.
Yes, Aftermath gets it's own icon for each level.
