Real fishing's for saps, I went from 0-52 in a week making upwards of 300k a day thanks to my special friend

Play it off like you don't use them, I don't care. The fact is you said you used them, and didn't describe your usage of them as past tense. You said they were okay to use because they let you play more efficiently. Which doesn't make using them any more acceptable. Do you see the picture at all, or is your big mouth making it hard for you to understand anything other than your massive ego?

So, therefore, buying gil is obviously okay because farming is so time consuming, and HNMLS botting is fine too, because who wants to stare at a screen waiting for a HNM to spawn, and buying accounts? Well sure! Leveling a character to 75 takes too long, after all. Those all make your time on FFXI more efficient, right?

There's a certain line to draw where I don't approve of third party programs.

I won't say that I approve of the bot, but with Aikar, it falls under a greyish area. He didn't purchase the bot from an RMT nor did he use the bot to exploit the FFXI economy. While this doesn't make it "ok", it doesn't put it in the same category as the bots used by the RMT and the faggots who buy from bots from them. Aikar does make a good point about the end result being the same. Any kind of moral quandries aside, the end result is what matters.

For windower addons, this falls under the category of making FFXI more fun to play without negatively impacting the gameplay of others. Windower macros aren't going let you dupe gil/items. Seeing the TP of your party members isn't going to carry your hand through content. Changing the way your character looks isn't going to give you an unfair advantage over others. I could go on and on, but I've made my point clear.

Aikar, said in the IRC chat, that fishing bots have made playing more efficient for him. An example he used was being able to watch a movie while the bot does all the work. He can twist whatever he wants now and play it off as having only toyed around with bots, but it doesn't change anything. If I were in his shoes, I'd be acting the same way he is right now.

Botting of any kind is retarded. It's the same as using RMT. I am proud to say that I have never used any third party program, and I do not condone it's use amongst my friends. As far as I am aware, none of them do.

To me, it's more that it gives you an advantage over other players you normally wouldn't have. That is an exploit. It doesn't matter that SE is retarded and should have included these features.
