Same demo with wonky Tank controls and Chris and his Watermelon Biceps taking up the majority of the screen then?

You slowly get used to it and the inventory system but what I hated most was the fact that I knew I could take the normal zombies out with the Knife but that whore of an AI partner pisses away all your ammo to shoot them in the chest. Stupid bitch.

The demo was great. I disliked the controls at first but it just takes a bit getting used to. Co-op is awesome, can't wait for this to come out.

    EDIT:

Also, I've heard there's going to be more multiplayer than just the co-op. Any truth to that?

I really don't think the camera is all that bad, certainly not as bad as people are making it out to be. It could benefit if it was panned out a tiny bit more, but I see no real issues. The controls are fine, you have 4 different settings in options. I was able to adjust immediately. It's not entirely different from RE4. I also don't mind inventory sharing that much. If you choose who gets what with at least half a brain, then you won't have ammo problems. Sheva doesn't miss all that much.

Lastly, I like the very frantic feeling this game gives. Not horror, but almost panic. The 2 levels showcase this very well. Both times you're on the run for your life, sparse ammo, and you need to make most shots count. A lot of times in RE4 you could just stand there in one spot and shoot. It wasn't too difficult of a game. This always has you on the move, which I like. I also found RE4 giving me too much ammo sometimes and ended up with way too much. This seems to give just the right amount.

Anyway, March 13th can't come quick enough. You can bet I'll be taking a personal day then.

Haven't played the demo yet, but pretty sure it's 3rd person.

I'm amused that people have voiced similar complaints to mine (even though I originally discussed them some time ago). This game will get good ratings surely, and I've no doubt it'll sell well, but it's not my bag. It'll be a fine action game, but it's not a horror game. If I want that, I'll take "Dead Space," the Condemned series, and so on.

If I remember right, they said it was coming out a week later, so it might be this Thursday. I'm waiting out on the demo for PS3 too, since I really don't know anybody with a 360 where I live. Kinda kills the coop part

Eh, there are two scenarios, your first time through, probably 10-15 mins each if you take your time and look around, but if you play through again, you can easily beat them in 5-10

That said, playing coop with my friend split screen was a lot of fun. Maybe it's just me, but the controls feel awkward at first but once you get used to them they feel fine. The inclusion of strafe and some quick weapon switching are nice additions. The coop aspects of the game feel nice as well, giving your partner ammo and rescuing them from constrictions feels satisfying. There are way to many kick ass moves that feel out of place, Sheva does a fucking summersault kick, who the fuck does that? It makes the game conservative enough that a single bullet and some acrobatics are enough to kill most of the fodder a lot of the time. But the minibosses are tense as fuck and require at least some teamwork to bring down, which is nice.

Overall, while it's not horror I think people will come to enjoy RE5 for what it is. And it is a good game, maybe not a good RE game, but a good one either way. They also turned herbs into sprays, which makes so much more sense to me than grinding it up and slapping it on your face.

Full game will be a lot of fun coop.

Second level with the chainsaw dude was intense. I recently bought an HDTV finally and was blowing up the red barrels to look at the amazing explosions, and then the chainsaw guy came into play. As soon as I saw him, "Aw fuck."

Overall for a demo, I thought it was pretty fun. My initial reaction to the demo was that I was going to buy this as soon as it hit stores, but now I'm not so sure. I can't imagine there would be tons of replay unless achievements call for it (I like getting them!) or if there's something like the horde mode in Gears of War 2, which I think would be a lot of fun. Also, the fact that I'm the only gamer in my circle of friends kind of takes away from the allure of co-op, as I think it'd be a lot more fun to play it with an actual friend over someone I met on Live, but whatever.

RE4 (PS2 version onwards) had quite a bit of replay value. So as long as new playthroughs include new weapons and stuff I think it'll be at least somewhat entertaining to go through again.

Yeah, I replayed the hell out of RE4. I have an OCD problem with games that let you update like that. I have to continue playing over and over until I have it all.

Which was my problem with FFXI, and was why I am glad I quit. I had an obsession with gil and I would log on for 3 days straight, just farming over and over.

The control scheme has a fairly steep learning curve. It seems like they tried too hard to simplify the setup and now have made it a bit more convoluted than it needs to be. All in all, I thought it was a lot of fun.
