So I live in a ranch style home and recently I've felt like I've been sinking into the floor of one of my houses. Like whenever I would step and stay in place I would sink into the carpet and floor. Our carpets suck so it's not just the plushness of the carpet. Today I stepped into the entrance of my bed room, stopped for a sec, and my foot sunk ever so slightly into the floor (almost imperceptibly) but it released a sulphurous smell in a wave. It smelled like a decaying body. Who do I tell about this and who can I get to check it out. I think there is something dead in my bedroom floor. The previous home owners were kind of sketchy so I'm really sketched out.

Pest control and moisture control both involve working in basements and crawl spaces, so most companies that do one do the other.

Edit: But either way, sinking into the floor and smelling nasty odors both make it sound like you have a pretty advanced moisture issue that's already rotting out your subfloors. On top of that, excessive moisture can lead to all kinds of pest problems.

So I have a research paper due Monday, MLA format... This is kind of a more complicated citation I need to make...

Nearly one third of participants identified job-related stress as the culprit, second only to familial difficulties (Lauber et al., “Public Acceptance” 28; Lauber et al., “Lay Beliefs” 97).

Two journals, same authors, being cited at the same time. The in-text citation is massive, and I know I can word it to take out the author's names... but I'm hesitant. The professor basically says if he can't immediately match a in-text citation to the works cited page, we fail.

But yeah, is that the best/safest/most accurate way to do that?

Depends on who's in the home, but anything decorative/touristy (calendars, posters, bells) is a big hit. I got my Japanese host family a snow globe of NYC, and they got a big kick out of it.
