Injured on the job last year in TN. Sprained lumber/sciatica from lifting a postal flat rate. I've managed the pain thus far, and it's a bit silly I have'nt followed up on it, but would my employer be responsible for long term effects? They covered the PT and all the initial medical expenses but I now feel the need for pain management, and am unsure if corrective surgeory can help.

If the whole thing is documented, and the documentations says there is the possibility you might need further intervention if things don't improve, you should be fine.

If you signed off on any type of "completion" or "resolution of benefits", you're gonna have problems.

Anyone know if there are any issues/penalties w/e for having two dental insurance plans?

My husband's teeth are just the worst (don't blame him, his parents fail about getting them taken care of as a kid), and we've already capped out on his current plan for the year, and he found out today he needs a root canal....

I can't say for sure, but when switching health insurance plans they required I be dropped from the one plan first before I could pick up the other. I can't say I understand how the insurance field works and what type of checks they do, but it may not be as easy as just getting another plan.

Do you both have the same plan from an employer? And if so, is it your employer or your husband's? Maybe you can drop him from being covered under the one if it is provided by your own employer and he can get it through his? Just a shot in the dark.

Sadly, plan is through his employer. Mine doesn't offer insurance (I work at a learning center).

A guy I work with was telling me that his sister got hired at an advertising firm to handle the various social media accounts of about five companies. All she does is manage the pages and reply and stuff for the various pages.

Looking to get a new car pretty soon. The upper limit on price is around $30,000 although cheaper is better and the car doesn't necessarily need to be new. I'm looking for either a small crossover or a hatchback with AWD. Currently leaning towards a Mazda CX 5 although I'm there are other options and someone who knows about cars probably has good advice.

I don't think you can get it with AWD, and in North America you can only buy it in Canada, but the car my husband and I bought last year is fantastic: Chevy Orlando. I believe you can get a gasoline version in Canada, but in Korea they only offer Diesel and LPG. We got the LTZ with almost the highest package and then added a front and back camera dashcam system and navigation; the first new car I've ever owned ^^;

The Golf R mk6 is good although the mk7 is around the corner. I'm going to wait until September to see if they announce anything about it. If it's coming stateside soon I might hold out. The A3 doesn't exist in the US so it's not really an option, neither does the Orlando. I've looked the Forester and the Crosstrek. I'll probably give them all a test drive at some point.

Can someone inform me on NY employment laws regarding breaks? In Ireland you're entitled to 15 minutes paid break after 4 hours, 30min after 6( I think) and an hour after 9 (or something to the effect).

My boss wants me to deduct my lunch from my work day completely (e.g. work 9 hour day, no pay for break no matter how long).

Work a shift of more than six hours starting before 11 AM

AND

Continue until 2 PM

MUST

Have an uninterrupted lunch period of

Half an hour between 11 AM and 2 PM

Meal periods do not count as work time, thus employers need not pay for that time.
Employers do not have to provide other "breaks", such as for "rest periods" or "coffee breaks." But, if an employer permits a break (of up to 20 minutes), then they should pay it as work time.
