The only way you're going to make it less hot is fan + window + ducting.

Dont cover it with anything lol, youre asking for trouble.
Depending on how crappy/small your apt is they may be running in series, which would make the others go off, but they shouldnt be set up that way. Typically each radiator is set up independantly so you should be able to just shut off the valve thats feeding it, but since your in an apt, prob cant do that.
Depending on what radiator you have, you can just open up the drain valve and let the water drip out along with steam. Obviously itll still heat the place.. but not as well, and you can vent it out a window if you want.
My advice is to just call your landlord.
I'm trying to organize my desktop. I want basically nothing on my desktop background except my docking bar. I'm using Windows 7 starter. I have a folder that contains Contacts, Desktop, Downloads, Favorites, My Music, My Pictures, Searches, etc. I have another icon that is 'My Computer', an icon for 'Network' and an icon for 'Recycle Bin'? I would prefer to just use the start button to get to these folders and do not want them on my desktop. I try to move them and all it does is just make a shortcut while leaving the original on my desktop still. Is it possible to get rid of them?
Right click on desktop -> Personalize -> Change Desktop Icons (top left)
Not entirely sure what to do:

Windows 7 starter sucks, a lot of customization options that are on the normal version are taken out (like changing your fucking wallpaper), so I wouldn't be surprised if you can't lol. I'm typing this on W7S so I'll see if I can find an option though.
Edit: The only thing that should be "stuck" on your desktop though is your recycle icon, have you tried to cut/copy the others instead of dragging them?
Well, I'm aware of a program that allows you to bypass the 'no changing background image' thing. I do have the option to delete these icons, but I'm not sure if that means I will no longer be able to use them again, or if it will just simply delete them from my desktop and will force me to use the start button to get to these options.

Use that to hide your icons.
Slightly OT but why do people use docks? I never really understood the appeal, can't you make the same exact shortcuts in your start menu? You only have to press the windows key to activate the start menu, so I'm not really sure why a dock is useful. It seems like most of the stuff you can put in your dock already exists in other forms. I wouldn't mind using a dock rather than start menu if I knew what exactly it can do that is so great, besides just looking kinda nifty.
You can hide the recycle bin, too: Image.
And yeah, can't stand docks or icons, either. I just put everything I need to access often on the start menu.
Whats a good scary movie thats not too scary or gory? Yeah, kind of a conundrum, but not my request.
A good "frreaky" more than scary would be the paranormal activity series. IMO
Hahaha. Thats what I said, but she refuses to watch that movie, too scary for her.
Putting this here for whoever wants it.
It's 5$ towards an Amazon (VOD) Video on Demand.

Go to http://www.amazon.com/vodpromo to use it.
It's a one time thing, so who ever uses it first gets it. Dont be a dick and activate the code if youre not going to buy a VOD.

Does anyone know the North American phonemic spelling chart?
If so, could you tell me if this is correct? I'm unsure of the first and second syllables.

Thanks.
Problem with my windshield wipers:
I was running them and I heard a loud snap. I tried running them again and they would only move about an inch. I tried clearing the ice around the base of the wiper arm and it still only moves about an inch. You can hear the motor running and everything. I was also able to freely move them by hand back and forth which I don't think is normal. Is this something I can fix or do I need to have some mechanic guy fix it?
Sounds like you stripped the gear that drives the wipers. You will probably need new parts and if you are proficient and mechanical enough you could fix it yourself or if changing your own oil is the type of thing that scares you, you will probably want to go to a mechanic. In some vehicles it is easy to access where the motors are but in some it can be difficult.
sounds like you popped the wipers off the motor. happened to me in my rx7, i just had to remove some shielding to access the connection point and popped the sucka right back in.
seems like your wiper motor is fine. worst case scenario appears to be simply buying new wiper arms if they are broken.
