1 bag = 10ft² @ 1 inch depth = 10ft² X 1/12ft = (10/12)ft³
1 Cubic Foot = 0.0283168466 Cubic Meters
so 0.023597m³ covered by each 40lbs bag.
200m X 300m X .04m = 2400m³
2400m³ / 0.023597m³ = 101707.84421748527355172267676611 bags
or 101707.84 bags to 2sigfig.
lol @ over 100,000 bags of topsoil.
man, my answer seems really wrong, but i can't figure out where i fucked up. fuck you all, i'm 29 and haven't had to do this kind of shit in nearly a decade.
10sqft = 1440sqin, at 1 inch depth is 1440 cubic inches
20,000 cm x 30,000 cm x 4 cm = 2,400,000,000 cubic centimeters
1 inch = 2.54 cm
1 sq inch = 6.4516 sq cm
1 cubic inch = 16.387064 cubic cm
So 1440 cubic inches = 23,597.37216 cubic cm
2,400,000,000 divided by 23,597.37216 = 101,706.2402 bags or 101,706.24 to 2 sig figs
Pretty sure that's it... doing this half asleep
i'd go with his answer. he used more sigfigs when converting cubic inches to cubic cm. i ended up using less sigfigs when converting from cubic feet to cubic meters. so his answer would be more precise. mah badz
also, pogejr, i like the part where you contributed an answer. <3
101,000+ was correct. But yeah, I just put 1.0x10^5 to get the two sig figs.
you know those reddish marks you get when you fall asleep on your clothes (like if you put your head down during class and wake up with marks on your face)
is there a specific word for that
no, there is not.
this is the closest i could find:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...=sleep%20marks
random question thread is fun!
Talking about the marks that socks leave on your ankles and shit? It's called edema.
No like the red sheet marks on your face and shit when you wake up
If I were standing on the North or South Pole then spun in a circle in reverse of the Earth's rotation then can I reverse time like the Superman movie?
Instead of making my own thread I'll just pose it here.
Spent all summer hanging out with girl, every weekend but one, when she flew back to her home state to visit friends/family/BF. She's mentioned a few times that shit's not perfect with their relationship and that she's not sure why she's even bothering.
Obviously I like her, but I wouldn't want to be the asshole to tell her I like her and ruin her relationship, however bad it may be.
Do I just stop hanging out with her or do I tell her how I feel?
Tell her honestly how you feel. Apologize for telling her this at this stage in her relationship but you can't go on w/o saying anything. etc etc
Yeah, I'll probably tell her soon, just not real soon. Her mom died this upcoming weekend two years ago so think it's kinda a bad time to say anything.
Ok, another random question.
I just helped a friend move and he didn't want this old turn table. Problem is that it looks like the power is drawn from hooking up into the receiver I didn't take. I figure I could just splice an old plug onto it, but I don't have any background in electrical engineering. Any advice appreciated.
I work at a chemical fertilizer distribution facility, and I was recently given the responsibility of blending up a batch of 28% UAN Solution. We achieve this by adding water to our 32% UAN Solution, so basically we have a product that is 68% water and make it into a product with 72% water.
We have a formula for this, and I followed it exactly, and our mixture ended up having too much water. I was looking at the formula, and it doesn't seem correct to me. It is as follows:
(This is exactly what's written in our conversion)
32% to 28% =
100 tons of 32% =
100 x .32 = 32
32 / 0.28 = 114.29
114.28 - 100.00 = 14.29 tons of water
So basically, when we want to blend a batch of 28%, we will take our tank level in feet, in this case 27.44 feet (our tank gauge doesn't display inches but this is pretty much 27' 5.25") and multiply it by 166.74 tons/foot. This gives us roughly 3,203 tons of 32%. We then multiply that by 0.1429 to figure out how much water we have to add. In this case it comes out to 457.7 tons. In our tank, one inch of water is 7.33 tons, so we needed to add roughly 5.2 feet. We almost always undercut that amount just to be on the safe side, as it is easier to add more water to cut it further if need be, so we ended up adding 5' 0.5" or 5.02 feet. We let it recirculate for about 24 hours and took a sample, it ended up being about 27.4%.
Basically what I'm wondering, is if this formula is correct. Something obviously went wrong here, and I'm just trying to narrow down what it was. I came up with a few possibilities. Either the formula is incorrect, the gauge is wrong, or the tons/foot ratio of the 32% or the water (or both) are incorrect.
Edit - When I was looking into this I came up with a multiplier of 0.125 instead of 0.1429, I think that MIGHT have been our issue, looking for confirmation on this. Thanks in advance to any replies!
I don't really know anything about record players that do that specifically, but it was probably getting a small amount of DC power from the receiver. Hooking it into 120V AC would likely fry it instantly. If you can find out what voltage it needs you may be able to splice on an AC adapter. You know the manufacturer and model number?
Hate to rain on the parade, and I'd love to hear an update if I'm wrong but, "Pouring your heart out" to a chick and "telling her how you really feel" does not work, even though hollywood has conditioned us all to believe we will all have fairy tale endings in our love life. Second, if you spent an entire summer hanging out with a female, and nothing physically happened between the two of you, you have been friend-zoned. Lots of times women in crappy relationships will form a friendship with another male who wants them because it gives them an emotional support/crutch that doesn't exist with her boyfriend. If her relationship was bad enough, she would have ended it. There are ways to get out of the friend-zone but its increasingly difficult and makes it harder based upon the amount of time you actually spent in the friend zone. There is a science to attraction.
