If you need to change one letter/number in a long series, you can use it to just type the number instead of hitting backspace/delete. Of course 90% of the time you need to do that, just auto replace, and even then, it's barely useful.

    2 questions:

    1) If I wanted to learn about 7 songs on the piano of fairly high difficulty would it be quicker to just learn those songs or go through the process of actually learning how to play (assuming all I ever wanted to play was those songs and nothing else)

    2) What is the advantage of computer recording software like protools in relation to standalone digital recording stations? Some of the google results I was getting were from the 90's......

I had another drunken adventure. Hit up two bars and went to the casino. On a scale of 1-10, what are the odds of being brutally murdered if I continue having such adventures?

It's nothing short of a miracle that you're still alive.

So basically useless, pretty much as I suspected.

In older programs overtype mode was on by default, and insert allowed you to tell the computer to insert characters. It was also the first Cnrl+V/C, before the days of windows.

I just pop that fucker off if I have a program that still recognizes it. Better than hitting it on accident and having to retyped the sentence I lost typing the new one.

Pretty much. It's basically like caps lock, and pause. They technically do something, but realistically, it's unlikely you'll use any of them.

Well, I can't say to piano, as I suck at it, but I started playing guitar (and have been for about 15 years now) because I really wanted to play Master of Puppets, and that's no walk in the park. Try learning one of your songs, and it may take some real discipline, but you may just learn your songs and continue with the piano playing/learning.

Protools and similar programs typically have more options than a standalone stations, and will cost less, but may have a steeper learning curve. If you're looking to just record your piano and voice, some simple setup, you can get something like http://www.guitarcenter.com/TASCAM-D...28-i1428207.gc for a relatively low price. Problem with something like protools or similar software is that you typically need a few other devices, like midi controllers and audio ports, so unless you're really getting into home recording, don't worry to much about that kind of thing.

out of curiosity, what are the seven songs?

Yeah I'm gonna have to rig the work computers since people were bitching about it today. As long as it can be disabled, I'm all good.

How reliable is Craigslist for finding a job? Literally just packed up some shit and moved to another state, currently staying in a hotel since I can't get a co-signer or prove 900 something income a month for a cheap studio apartment, and the part time job I managed to get target is costing me about 450 a month on just the hotel bill, not even counting food. Anyone have any good experiences finding a job off Craigslist?

My work posts jobs on Craigslist, we are a private security agency. We get a lot of calls from people who saw ads for employment on Craigslist, so it does actually work and gets people in the door.

Obviously anything that's written in all caps and promises some ridiculous take home/week (2500/week!) is a scam. Look for local numbers and not 1-800 numbers when you apply. I've gone to some "job interviews" that were pretty bogus and I've been to some that were 100% legit.

I really just need something that is equal or better than 7.25/30 hours a week to afford a cheap place and bills, with some saving money on the side. But no experience is really fucking me over it seems. Good tip on the local number, never would have even noticed anything like that, thanks.

Honestly, try going to a temp agency. When I first moved here, that was my first step to get a job. I worked there for almost two years. I ended up leaving the agency when I found a job on my own, but you can get good temp to hire positions and many of them don't really need a lot of experience.

They are employment agencies. They are paid by companies to find them people. You don't pay them anything. You go in, fill out your application (bringing a resume is a plus) and they make you take some tests to determine what kind of work you would be good at. They'll pull positions for you and send your resumes to the employers. The employers will look at the resumes they're given and pick from people to hire.

I worked for Adecco, both in Pennsylvania and in Florida so they are pretty good. Google "temp agencies" for your local area and pick one.

Sooooo what happened to Netflix.com's browse selection availability? Back then I was able to search and see if a title was available for streaming or DVD rental on the movie/show description page. Don't tell me logging in with my device is the only way now to check ? :/

Start at a convenience store, a corporate chain if possible.. Lots of experience can be gained. I work at a Midwest gas station chain now.
