Can somebody explain objectivism to me?
Can somebody explain objectivism to me?
Dear god, that's so much less tautological and convoluted than the conventional Wiki article was. Thanks.
Going to be in Jacksonville, FL for a night before getting on a cruise with some friends, does anyone have any restaurant/bar/nightlife recommendations?
@the mouth hurting when you're eating - sometimes that happens to me, and I've found that it happens mostly when I wake up and haven't had anything to drink for a while. When I tried to figure out what was going on, the best explanation I could find doing a little research was that it was likely due to dehydration. If it happens I just drink water and wait a few minutes before I eat and it works.
So I'm looking into taking up coding in my freetime for website design and such so I have something else to extra to fall back on since the economy isn't so great, although the last time I made any website was probably 11 years ago on geocities with basic HTML. In what language are most sites written in nowadays and does anyone have links to any resources for the languages before I start looking for eBook downloads to learn the basics.
Is there any way to tell the BG overmind not to consider certain threads worthy of the little red "new posts!" flag on the subforum header? Or perhaps only to use it when certain threads within the subforum have new posts?
Just got this twitter shit rollin'. Who shouldI be following that provides endless LULZ and straight up entertainment?
I like @shootermcgavin_ and @_michaelj0rdan
Kind of a gay question but uh...how do you know when you love someone? I ask because I've never loved anyone. My life was always about me and whatnot so ya....
I've been with this chick for like 6-7 weeks now and she's beyond amazing. Isn't that nerdy but doesn't mind me being nerdy at all and even offers to help me be more nerdy. She's kind, sweet, and seems to enjoy touching my penis on a consistent basis.
if she took a vial of poison and died would you drink the same poison to be with her in death? if not you aren't in love
LoL Blarg
Have you been with other women? Does this one feel better than those other ones? Are you constantly reminded of her by things/her name/memories that are related to her in anyway? Have you had serious thoughts about this person? Thoughts you normally wouldn't be thinking about (marriage, conversing, living together, doing stuff with her)? When you're feeling down or upset does thinking about her make you feel better? Can you feel this feeling in your gut and or heart?
If so you might be a serial killer.
No, but seriously...
Love is just a rush of chemicals in our brains. A fleeting feeling that, anthropologically, encourages us to reproduce and pass on our genetic material to future generations. The question you want to ask yourself is if being with this woman for the rest of your (unfortunately quite limited) days will make you happy. And weigh that answer against the potential happiness that another unknown individual could bring you, bearing in mind the probability you will meet said unknown person before your untimely demise. Based on my own personal moral code, were I in your shoes (an impossible statement to even fathom, but here nonetheless), I would enjoy her for the time being and then kick her to the curb when things got really bad, to spare her the misery.
This has been a Public Service Announcement. I piss in your cornflakes. I don't give a fuck.
Jesus lol
And that whole dying thing has been one of my biggest reasons I've never loved anyone before. I've done exactly that. Kick them to the Curb before I do or when I get that feeling I don't have much time left and I've had long discussions with my current girlfriend about that. She's a Nurse with Crones so she's pretty understanding but I still feel like shit knowing that if this does continue for some time that I will hurt her badly.
She is on my mind a lot and I greatly enjoy being with her. She makes me happy and isn't intimidated about me or my angry personality. She seems to like my humor a lot and I can tell she has very strong feelings for me. Neither of us have said "Love" to eachother yet but that's only because I expressed my concerns about that word. I don't believe "Love" should be tossed around like so many early couples do and it should first be said when both parties do love eachother.(Aren't I a fucking romantic). And yes, even after all those ever so romantic discussions, she still wants to be with me.
But this is why I'm asking. I have no idea what love is or even how to approach it.
I think with what you're considering you can entertain the idea that people answering you may have never experienced what you're talking about either. I don't think anyone can tell you, though. It was new to every person before you, so I wouldn't get too hung up on defining it. Enjoy what you have and relish in the love or whatever you'd prefer to call that you're sharing with her.
As an aside, the idea of deciding for another person what they can handle or are willing to go through for the opportunity of having you in their lives sounds crazy. You can discuss it and let them know you understand if they can't deal with the situation, but leave the actual choice up to them instead of "kicking someone to the curb" for their own sake. That sounds horrible.
YouTube made me log in with Google today since I accidentally logged out ... now when I try to play a video from my favorites, it plays - that's fine - but then it automatically jumps to the next one. I don't exactly want to watch every video in my favorites list every time I go there. I have searched everywhere for a solution to turn the autoplay feature off, and I can't find it.
Anyone know how to disable that shit? It's annoying as fuck when I've got a video up, I'm scrolling through comments (or worse, writing one) and it skips on to the next video on my list. Really don't understand why they fixed something that wasn't fucking broken. Please halp.
The playlist bar should be at the bottom, and near the bottom left should be two buttons next to each other. The one that looks like a circle is the "Turn autoplay on/off" button. Click it so that it's not pressed in.
Myrrh, it's Crohn's. If you can spell it right, you get bonus points. Trust me.
