If you put clear scotch tape on the back of the poster first as a base, you can place sticky tape or whatever over the scotch tape and carefully apply it and peel it off to your heart's content. The scotch tape will stay on your poster of course, but it will look much nicer than having a bunch of poster tape or sticky tack stuck to it, and will allow you to roll it up for travel and stuff too.

So I'm looking to get a real credit card. I have a Best Buy one now (used 0% financing for my HDTV) but there's no bonus to using that. I'd like to get a cashbuilding one if possible. My bank, PNC, keeps denying me from getting its one though, and I figure that would be the easiest one to get it with since my bank account is right there. Last I checked (got an update a month ago applying for a home loan) my middle credit score was 716, since then I paid off the Best Buy one completely (had $140 left on it, still no interest on the balance though).

Should I look into applying for another card? Should I wait and see why PNC declined me and try to appeal? If an appeal, has anyone done that before and can give some tips on what might work to get them to approve it?

My idea with getting a CC is to essentially make everything two payments. Rent payment beginning of month, CC payment middle of month totalling all my other expenses. Good idea? Bad idea?

    Here's a strange question...

I purchased one of those "2000 Flushes" kits for my toilet. Thing is, it doesn't seem to be working as intended.

For a few flushes, the water appears bright blue (almost as it should, but perhaps a bit too deep of a blue). After that, the brightness of the blue starts to fade, and eventually I flush and get weird colored water... seems to vary between a dull greyish-pink, to a dull greyish-purple... or sometimes just dull grey. Upon inspecting the tank, I find it's a dark, murky mess. In order to get the water to start being blue again, I need to flush and hold the handle, poke around the tablets a bit.

Then the process just starts over again...

Not making any sense to me... I followed the instructions and dropped them into the appropriate corner... I'm confused.

    Any ideas?

So I'm wanting to move out of the small town I live in. Friends are nagging me to move to Seattle to be with them. However, as I currently live roughly 500 miles, it makes it more difficult to do so. I'm not wanting to move there without a job secured already.

So, if I do end up applying for jobs there...is it better to use one of my friends' Seattle addresses on my applications, rather than my own? If I do, do I just outright lie and say I live there already? (Seems like a bad idea.) Or use their address on the application, then be forward if I get to the interview stage? Likely I would say I plan to move in with that friend if I can't afford my own place.

Also, I've never actually an actual interview for a job--all of my jobs thus far have been "You seem qualified for this job, you want it?" sort of deals. If I actually do land an interview, is it bad form to request a specific day of the week for them? Basically, responsibilities with my current job and travel time, Wednesday is the only day I could reasonably do the interview.

For the credit card, you might want to look into getting a secured CC if you don't have any real credit built. I think they normally start at $500 limit, which you have to pay to secure the card, but over time if you are good with payments, you can get it raised and even an unsecured CC. Keep in mind that paying off your balance each month is actually a bad thing if you are trying to build a credit history.

Pretty sure it's actually a good thing credit score wise to pay off your credit card in full. It shows you actually can pay your (albeit small) debts on time. The only reason not to pay off a credit card is so banks can make money off of the interest. Paying interest on a card doesn't build your score, using the card and paying it off does.

I can't find info on Colossus, the program insurance companies use to evaluate bodily injury claims, that aren't from either the companies that use them or the millions of lawyers that pop up on google badmouthing it. Anyone had any experience using it or being on the receiving end of it?

Yes, the myth of not paying off all of your CC is bad, is, a myth.
I have never accrued a single dime of negative interest; any sort of loan I have taken out has been paid off before the interest period has kicked in, and all CC dept is paid off monthly, etc, and I have a near perfect rating.

So get the official decline letter and it says my credit score is 667 with this credit agency. I have a report from last month of another credit agency giving me a 716 credit score. Are credit disparities really that big between companies? And nothing has happened in the last month, negative at least. I fully paid off a no-interest card, but that wasn't even on the 716 score report yet. I haven't missed any payments or anything either.

And the entire point of applying to this CC is to get a cashback credit card. I have a crappy Best Buy card I can use for building credit if I want (and that was the original idea with the card...other than no-interest financing for a 51" TV).

First, keep in mind some of the 'free credit score' (and even some of the ones you pay for) websites do not actually retrieve your credit score from the credit bureaus, but instead analyze your credit report with similar software that the credit bureaus use to sort of 'estimate' your credit score. It's usually pretty accurate, but it's certainly not exact. You may have to read the fine print or ask customer service of the website to find out if they do this as opposed to getting one of the three bureau's actual score (and not just one of their reports & then generating their own score). Keep that in mind.

That said, every one of the three major bureaus has a different credit report and scoring algorithm. The difference between the scores typically shouldn't be as big as you just mentioned, unless one of the credit reports has different (and potentially bad) information in it; which isn't all that uncommon. I'd recommend attempting to get a copy of your credit report from each of the three bureaus and making sure that they match up to what your records should be (most importantly: no missed payments or delinquent accounts).

Although, I'm not sure why you would be denied a credit card with a score of 667; that's not a bad score at all. Only reason you may be denied at that score is if you're asking for a particularly high balance/low-interest card, don't have a job, or have a poor debt/income ratio.

I was applying for the PNC cashbuilder card. I don't care if they give me a limit of $250 or $500, the application didn't have me ask for a certain limit. I just want a cashbuilder card as opposed to a crappy high APR department store card.

Anyone ever been approached by a hooker? Stopped by a gas station today on my way back from work, I was still in a suit, and got approached by one and it was one of the most awkward fucking moments I've ever had. Flashed her my creds and told her to get lost. Has anyone else ever dealt with this? Kept thinking on the way home "why me" type shit lol.

After a particularly frustrating evening dealing with ActionScript, I opted to grab a quick dinner at Burger King to spend some time out of the building. As I was leaving BK, a particularly nasty looking prostitute came up to me.

"Hey babe, I'm looking for a good time tonight."

    "Uh, that's nice."

"Think you want a help a woman like me out?"

    "Sorry. I'm gay."

"Babe, not when I'm done with you."

By that point, I was at my car, but I was done with ActionScript and work for the night. @.@

so uh, anyone know of a good resource for textbooks/ebook downloads etc.? i used to have good luck just searching isbn# or title/author and some additional details, but that hasn't been turning up anything useful thus far. trying to get by this semester without having to spend cash, and my school doesn't hand out overages on grant money until november. normally i can do without, but i'm doing some online courses so i don't really have lecture notes to fall back on
