Yes it did. I think I figured it out. I think it is a Datura.

Never heard of the plant before.
Yup. Don't eat the seeds.
I need brake work done, and think the local shop I normally goto is trying to charge me way too much. So would like someones opinion, that actually works on cars.
I have a 2009 subaru wrx, and I need Front & Rear brake pad/shoes.... plus I also need my front & rear rotors replaced/machined. Local shop wants $700 for the job, $400 of that is labor.
Sound about right, or am I badly being taken for a ride?
Unfortunately, sounds pretty close. Brake pads + rotors = time & money.
You might find a cheaper place (there is always a cheaper place), but the piece of mind if you trust your shop plus having a relationship you can go back to them if something is wrong. But 2009? Not under warranty any longer? My 2006 Saturn still has the original brakes on it. You might want to check if you get the same recommendation from a different shop before you spend the money.
I have a 2006 Impreza and we just had that done at the dealer for around the same price. You might be better off seeing what the dealer will charge you in case it is about the same, but the price is reasonable. I don't have a good local shop, most of my issues the one place that was recommended to me couldn't handle because of the make. Whenever we take it to the dealer they also automatically replace anything that has a recall so that is one of the few good things about them.
Car feels so good after you do it though![]()
Yeah, price doesn't seem too far out there. Probably $60-80 for the pads for 4 wheels, then $70-100 per rotor new.
I'll swing by the dealership and see what they say for a price...... If it's along the same lines as the local shop, then I'll get it done at the dealer.
Thanks everyone
Anyone know of a small AM radio? Ones ive seen for jogging are all FM, and the AM ones are hueg.
Is there a Random thread dedicated to bitching about girls/boys in this forum somewhere?
Dunno. Start one?
Okay, I drive a 2006 Chevy Colorado. I live 4.4 miles from work.
Last night as I parked my truck at my apartment, the low fuel indicator came on. Generally I know that this doesn't mean I'm out of gas, but that I'm getting there. Due to some unexpected expenses this month, I'm completely broke until I get paid, usually around 0300hours on Friday morning is when my check hits my account. The truck is a 4cyl and doesn't have any major problems that I'm aware of and the gas tank is 16 gallons if I remember correctly.
I need to be to work at 1400hours today and I will be leaving roughly around midnight. Can I make it 8.8 miles plus the mile (or so) from my apartment back out to another gas station with the low fuel light on? How many miles can I go before the thing runs out? I don't want to walk to work because it will take me at least an hour, but if I have to walk to work so I don't run out of gas, I will do so. But if I can make it, of course I'd rather drive. Getting a ride is not an option and I have zero cash sitting around. My fault for letting it get that low but I also wasn't expecting this other shit to pop up.
So I guess my question is should I be able to drive 10 miles with the low fuel light on?
Unless your gas gauge is desperately in need of calibration, low fuel light typically means down to last 1-2 gallons. I assume you get more than 10 mpg, so you should be fine.
Yeah, Google searches for your model claim it goes off a 2-2.5 gallons remaining, so you're probably fine.
'course, there was also a recall to fix the sensor tripping in park/neutral, and if you're parking on an incline that could cause things to trip the sensor as well. If the gauge didn't seem too low, it might be one of those other things.
Yeah I got the same from Google but I wanted additional opinions. I called my dad too, and he said I should be fine, just drive like an old lady, which I would have anyway on low gas.
If I do run out you'll see me posting in Random Fail.
That's one of several reasons I got myself a KwikTrip(gas station chain around here) credit card, then set it to just automatically pay down every month. Another is that I earn rewards for buying gas and in-store stuff.
