Capturing doesn't usually get you a "crazy number of parts", it generally just gives you a different set of rewards, often better for common drops. Hell, going for certain parts it's better to kill rather than capture.

I've got that. I think I was a little unclear: I ended up capturing 4 Kut-Ku in a single mission expecting to see the normal capture loot at the end 4x, but ended up getting only a little bit more then I had been seeing in single capture runs. I was just confused as to whether each individual capture adds to the total pool and I just had garbage luck for that run, or if it only opens up rewards after the first catch and any more captures after that are meaningless lost carves. I was considering just bludgeoning Kut-Ku for 3-4 hours trying to test the different factors involved in rewards, but I was hoping someone had already gone through the pain and figured it out.

I got mine not from a carve or break, but just in standard rewards, or in an epic hunting quest.

I kept waiting for it to drop a shiney, that's how I got mine lol. About the same % chance but with less time to do kill.

I'm trying to decide if I should farm red fatalis or do the white one. The white one seems to be impossible I always die at like 3 minutes in. Also why did the G rank white fatalis get unlocked but I still can't do the HR6 one?

How the hell am I supposed to kill white fatalis? It's not an issue of "oh its too hard" or "oh I cant read its patters" but "I keep fucking timing out because it spends half the fight out of fucking range". Seriously this guy is gay and I keep timing out/dying before it can run away or die.

Your armour is fine, w/ regards to your HBG, idk since I've always used Lao Czar Cannon. As far as ammo goes, I'm going to assume you aren't using something w/ recoil since your auto skill would be come useless.

Are you using Felyne Heroics too? White Fata oneshoots you anyways, so use it. When it does the grounded-lighting attack just be on your toes to roll away. It got me a very, very low number of times. About 3-4x out of 25+ encounters.

What about bombs+? They help a lot, so take materials to make them. I always used it after it did its areal lighting attack (when it goes to the platform). I also stood behind it at an angle (so whiptail won't get you) and shot at it while it was landing. Then I proceeded to hit the bombs and finally sprayed him w/ bullets.

The only thing to keep an eye is his grounded lighting attack, since it's unpredictable. To escape the areal lightning storm run to the right edge of the platform:

Get rdy to run + dive that straight path, I've never been killed like this. Besides, a lightning never strikes 2x the same place. Once the shower it's over, quickly run where Fata lands + place bombs. Stand behind it like it shows and shoot him.

If you follow this tactic and still can't beat it, it means you're chicken out. Try to deal more dmg and play more offensively, besides that's what gunners do.

I can avoid getting hit. I'm just not killing him since he's always up in the air. I'll try bombs.

Basically what I bring for ammo is this:

Fire shots
Norm 3
Norm 2
99 husk+needleberries

I use all of that up and it's still alive. At this point all I got left is norm1 or recoil stuff (pellet 3). I'll try the bomb+ stuff. Also i don't use heroics or that stuff. I just go in with feline temper. Though i wonder how much damage does bomb+ do in comparison to a shot?

A combo of +bombs deal a considerable amount of dmg. Don't quote me on this, but I remember inflicting about 400-500 of extra dmg. If you take the max amount of bombs, you can deal almost 2k worth of dmg.

A single shot to the head was about 40 w/ Heroics. Also remember that bombs ignore Fata's Ruby shield, so it deals max dmg. Btw, the shield activates once it's about 50% health depleted and deactivates near 10%ish of health left *I think.

Heroics is a godsend, you should use it.

All the Adhoc Pts I find for Fata(any) always suck. No one ever brings Guts. I have a strong Lava set with Auto reload and my Midnight Bow. I want to work on getting that White Fata Bow though.

I mean, I hate that it does, it was pretty cool in MHF2, but using a bow on Fatalis is just silly.

That dragon bow or whatever is no good? With akanator parts or whatever? I was saving a big E dragon jewel or whatever to make it. Heard it was good on fatalis/shao or whatever.
