SE did say the two new avatars they were planning were different somehow than the current ones, didn't they? 3 avatars out at once would be interesting... if they do it right.

there are several arguments on alla about this speculation, one being that the information is a typo which is up for you to decide I personally doubt it is a typo. From what they have been saying, which hasn't been very much, these avatars will work differently and they keep mentioning "multiple" avatars which this seems to fit in. Someone from alla pretty much nailed it from my perspective when they brought up SE had intended for the avatars to be released before dissidia why is this so hard to believe? Even if they are not summonable avatars they could be a boss, but some people believe its still the Shikaree - then why isn't the name of the Shikaree the magus sisters?

If I recall correctly, they only said "one of which will be a big one". Not both avatars will be big summons.

That's definitely a possibility -- just like the triple-bat mobs, the 3 sisters would actually be one single avatar, but with the animation showing three parts to "fake" the effect of having multiple summons out at once. It would also circumvent a lot of issues in programming their behavior and interaction with the summoner.

The sisters wield spear, scythe and dagger (from eldest to youngest) in FFIV.
The Shikaree sisters do the same.

Shikaree Z's (the eldest of the 3) real name is Mhag (mentioned in CoP).
The eldest Magus Sister's name is Magu (reads the same as Mhag), tho this is usually localized into Sandy.

from what they did with Fenrir and Diabolos, i doubt any new avatar would be some new model made just for SMNs. since they now lowman graphic contents it'd be much more simple to convert odin/ixion into avatars and done, even Alex would require some tuning unless they'd really use the mechanical standing one which wouldnt have much sense to be honest

For Odin they could use the one that hovers behind Luzaf. I don't think it was bigger than Diabolos, and it would be reusing graphics!
