How do you get 75% WS / 25% melee damage in your calcs?


Yes, I understand that IF the attack and base damage were only applied to the melee damage and IF the melee damage was only 25% of the damage while the PCC enabled one to get 1.5% more total swings (thus 1.5% more melee swings and 1.5% more WS), that yes PCC would win.

But exactly how do you get melee to be only 25% of total damage?


I don't parse but other people do. In Rukes parses he is at 50-55% WS damage at most.
Getting 55% WS damage when every 6 swings is a WS requires melee hits of 200 when WS are 1200 (6:1 ratio) ignoring the effects of meditate and sekk.

Ofc meditation and sekk help, but keep in mind these are his parses and how aggressive we all know he plays. His overall WS damage was in fact around 50-55% and no where close to 75%.

If we use Rukes parses, then the Torque damage needs to be multiplied not against 25% but against 45%. Total damage from the torque is not .99% but 1.78%.

1.78% > 1.66%


Please clarify.

The 75% is just an assumption(by failure not me), as I said earlier it varies with your WS damage vs melee damage.

Sorry, went out to dinner! Ruke has a relic, if you forgot. Hagun is a pretty terrible weapon for DoT, but is amazing because of the WSes...on the other hand, Amano randomly procs 2.5x damage and has a much higher base damage, and doesn't have the extra 100tp to WSes. Also, I think most his parses you've seen were before the 5pt group2 change (which definitely skews things a bit more).

I generally parse between 72-75% WS dmg when I'm paying attention/not missing Overwhelms. And again, I feel in the math I did, outside of perhaps that split, I was -very- favorable to the Justice Torque.

If you want to go for 60/40 while keeping favorable conditions on attack/etc, you're still looking at 1.66% from 3 accuracy, vs .024*.4+.0156*.4+.0156*.024*.4~=1.7% In reality, if your attack/STR are higher than I am saying, or you are doing more than 60% of your damage as WS, that will drop off quick.

At a lower gear/merit level (not capped overwhelm), I will agree with J. Torque winning...if your WS gear is good (not even saying Hachiryu or anything, just solid gear) and you have the merits, PCC should win out by a small margin.

I feel if you are doing <60% WS dmg as a well geared/merited Hagun sam, you are not playing well. There are many reasons to throw this off, but 6hit/Hagun/5Overwhelm/haste after that shouldn't really ever parse lower than that.

Largely yes...but as a Samurai, I feel your goal to maximize total damage is to maximize the percentage of your damage that is WS damage. And again, like I said, it also changes based on your actual attack value (which depends on buffs largely)...

Note 450 attack, that should be with -one- attack buff. You should probably have meat + minuet + berserk ~50% of the time...450 should be significantly lower than your actual attack.
