I was disappointed by that game because I thought it was one of the better match ups of the whole bowl season, but Penn State forgot to show up. If these guys played 10 times it would probably end up going 5-5 or 6-4 at worst.Penn State: This is why winning the Big 10 isn't an accomplishment anymore.
USC: The above is why winning the Rose Bowl isn't an accomplishment anymore.
^_^ that hit by Taylor Mays was fucking sick
I don't think that's what he meant Plow. He just meant everyone outside the Top 5 was doing pretty bad, because really.. these bowl games have indeed been tough to judge D:
No, not really, there's not. Taking into account the ppr and the tot, after the top 5, it's a dropoff. The difference between 5 and 1 is about 14%. The difference between 5-6 is about 20% with much much less ppr remaining. I'm 5th and have a 33 point lead on the 6th place person with twice as many ppr. You can make the argument that the difference between 1-2 is greater than between 5-6, but Laguna doesn't have a lot of ppr.
USCs offense was just too much for Penn State to handle...Once they opened up the secondary they could run wherever they wanted. Royster being out definitely hurt the offense a ton. Then you pile up stupid mental penalties that Penn State NEVER commits (lining up off sides that negated a fumble, illegal shift that killed a 40+ yard play, etc), and you add in some bad playcalling on 3rd and shorts, and this is where we end up.
Glad to see Penn State still came to play in the 2nd half though. At least they didn't roll over and die like most teams would. But damn that USC team that showed up yesteday was good.
Oh one more thing...USC plays dirty. Lots of helmet to helmet hits. Almost killed Norwood. Assholes.
And yeah, the Big 10 was significantly overmatched in every game they played in except the Iowa game. Aside from Iowa, the teams were more than a touchdown underdog in every game. Is it really that surprising that they lost almost every matchup?
I really don't think I have too much more to add other than I really suck at picking the bowl games this year. 12-15, holy crap... The remainder of my high confidence picks are upcoming though so hopefully they pan out.
Also, seriously, lol @ the Big 10. Iowa is likely going to be the only win for them, just wow.
Go Gator's! and lol gamecocks miz.
Holy shit lol. What a catch. The Ole Miss/TT game is (un?lol)predictably good so far.
Ole miss needs this win
Amazing catch, looks like Ole Miss is starting to calm down and get their shit straightened out.
Pat Summerall has one of the most amazing play-by-play voices in college btw. Love when he calls games.

Let me know if you can't see them and I'll upload them to imageshack or something.
UC's section was packed, probably either 2-3:1 ratio of UC to VT fans. A lot of the later pictures were after everyone had left. But yeah, unless you were a fan/alumni of the teams, you didn't really care for the game, so a lot of empty seats especially in VT sections and nose bleeds.
