After seeing what the LSU defense did to Tech's pretty damn good offense and what Ole Miss is doing here, I feel pretty god damned good about my 34-point Florida win.

Not at all... but getting off the field quickly by allowing a fast td isn't exactly amazing defense. The blitz was a great play call, not taking anything away from that (well, ok taking a little away because Tech made about the stupidest most obviously wtf are you thinking play call I've ever seen there), but the story of the game was Ole Miss's offense being great and Tech's defense being beyond terrible.

If you try to credit that win to the defense you're doing a terrible disservice to Ole Miss's offense, and giving a defense that gave up 47 points way too much credit.

When I posted that, which was a while before you typed this, the Miss backs had ran over one of the secondary guys and then carried about 2 more on another play. Again, context at the time. When you aren't reading it at the time of it happening, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I'm not crediting Ole Miss's offense either. I'm sure Ole Miss is crediting Texas Tech's defense for being so bad, and not being able to tackle anyone.

Their defense set them up quite well for a good share of those points. The offense doesn't get credit for all 47. Hell, The defense get's 10 just off turnovers alone.

Tech's offense wasn't "awful," they scored 34 points, and I don't recall any of them being off turnovers or anything.

I'm sorry but when you score 47 points, have a 10 minute lead in time of possession, and win by less than 2 td... your defense does NOT get the credit.

They scored touchdowns just as often as they punted.

News flash: that's NOT a good thing for the defense.

Oh, and, Ole Miss would've been right up there with Oklahoma State if they played in the Big 12-- I don't believe at all they'd beat OU or Texas late into the season, Tech in the regular season would've been a MUCH tougher game, but they probably would pull out 1 win among the 3.
