Stafford and No-Show expected to announce going to draft next year. Just in on Sportscenter.
I'm sure a few teams will love to pick them up, but jesus, what of Georgia?

Say bye bye to Moreno and Stafford, UGA fans. They are expected to announce that they plan on entering the NFL draft.
Edit: FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- Devolver! Beat me.
Sucks. =\ Hopefully King and Samuel can step up next season; another season of spring practice will help them a lot (King with his blocking, Samuel with the fumbles). It probably will be Joe Cox starting next season, but I could see them working in Aaron Murray (#3 QB in the '09 class) at points during the season.
tbh, I'm gonna miss Southerland. He was a great FB when healthy.![]()
Damnit, I woke up to messages from all my friends about Stafford and (Devolver you seem to have misspelled his name). I'm hoping its part of the upcoming season of Punk'd and they are actually announcing they will be back. One can dream.
As for the QB situation, I'd like to see Logan Grey. He took some nasty hits as a returner and is pretty mobile but I haven't seen much of his arm. I'm not entirely sure why but I despise Joe Cox (I think he is the Independence grad yall are referring to). Although he did lead us to the come from behind win last year there was a rumor I heard that he thought he was the shit and spit his dip on a chick's back while doing her from behind.
HAHA Ho'shon sounds like a fucking idiot at his press conference.
"Um...Im going pro um...its awesome....um....I want to thank Coach Bobo...um.....and Coach richt ...um..... talk to my family.....um....um......prayed alot....um........im excited....um.....its cool......um.......I still want a degree.....um........um........um........thanks to my family........um.........um......... um.........thank you......um......."
Goddamn, did that nigga take English in Athens or what? I am glad we drafted Stewart, had we wasted a pick on this piece of shit I would disown Carolina. We like GA players for some reason.
No more Chippewas to hurdle and cry about, grown men incoming now. He will follow in the great line of other Georgia RB busts, Garrison Hearst, Robert Edwards, Musa Smith etc....
I think Stafford would be a good pick for Detroit perhaps, but they REALLY need to work on the defense and work on stop letting teams drop 30+ on them. One good thing is Joe Cox gets to playGO INDEPENDENCE HIGH!
These guys leaving remind me of a moment during the Army All American game. Some high school kid was about to pick his school and said "The school that I will be spending the next 3 years at will be West Virginia."
A bit full of yourself there buddy? lol
Rofl. I didn't catch that. I do know one thing. I HATE HATE HATE that recruiting shit where they have a big press conference to pick their hat/school. I mean seriously? Why are you so god damned full of yourself? Sometimes, I laugh if one of those kids gets hurt in the middle of their freshman year, and never plays again. Now the school that recruited you for football just has to keep you around so you can fail out of school. Good luck, loser.
Did you guys ever see that Outside the Lines where they discussed the kid who didn't get recruited by anybody (he was a big O Lineman in Nevada who wasn't good enough) so he faked his own press conference? He chose Cal and an hour later Cal issued a statement saying they never recruited him. Blew up in his face pretty bad. What an idiot...
I seen that. He didn't really fake a press conference. Iirc, he actually got the local news and shit to come in and assembled this grand hoax. It was brilliant and quite sad.
Yeah. I laughed hard when the original report came out a while back. That's one thing that pushed me to the whole hatred of the recruiting/choosing school process. It's gotten to the point where they interrupt a game just to show where a kid in the "Top 150 of the ESPN Rankings" picks to go to school.
Hey you watch it buddy, Garrison Hearst was a fucking beast until the same shit happened to his foot that happened to Bo Jackson's hip.
Hell even after. He was the first NFL player *ever* to come back from that shit and ran for 1200 yards his first year back.
Here's a brief timeline:
Hearst year 1: 1000+ yards, 49'ers 13-3
Hearst year 2: 1500+ yards, 49'ers 12-4 -- injured in playoffs
2 years without Hearst: 49'ers 10-22
Hearst returns: 1200+ yards, 5 ypc, 49'ers 12-4
I mean seriously if that's a bust, does that make Edge a bust too?
he seemed like a pretty big bust for AZ though
That and besides those three years pointed out, he finished up with about 950 and 750 yards in two more seasons before fading away. Not exactly a Reggie Bush (so far) like bust, but he wasn't able to sustain it.
He got hurt man, Edge led the league in rushing his first 2 years and I think even Barry Sanders or Jim Brown himself would tell you Edge was *well* on his way to establishing himself as the best RB ever, if not flat out the best football player in the history of the game.
Does that make the like 6 or 7 seasons since then "a bust," or "not being able to sustain?"
Hell no, he's out there performing with the world's best athletes after an injury that would put half the world walking with a cane half their life.
Anyway, the VY game is on classic, afk fapping.
Sorry, it was a real press conference that he did at his high school during an assembly just for him. Afterwards there was a media Q&A and he said that "he loved how's Cal's coach was so personal during all the recruiting and that he really felt at home". He also said that it will finally feel real when he steps onto Cal's field and takes his first hit. It really was probably the dumbest thing you could ever do.
Well.. I know injuries shouldn't take away from what a player is, but they do. If you drafted say.. Player A high, and you expect great things.. then he comes to the team, plays well for a year or two, then gets hurt and is never the same, slides back in production, and just disappears, that's what you call a bust. A bust doesn't only mean "He was drafted high to be good and turned out to be shitty from the start", it just basically means that he didn't completely live up to expectations. See what I mean? I agree with ya that Hearst was awesome. I watched a lot of 49ers football from '91 until they started to suck hardcore, so I saw a lot out of him.
I have no problems with Knowshon leaving early, thats his accord (even though his parents pushed him for a degree) and he can do with it what he wants.
Stafford, I feel, has insulted a lot of UGA faithful and fans with this move. For a QB whose nickname was "The Truth", his persona, his raw talent, everything about him from the coaches to his teammates he was a leader and an improving QB. So many defensive players have said theyll be back, we have an amazing group of recievers next year in Jackson, Green, Durham, ect. Caleb King and Richard Samuel at RB were both nabbed by UGA as better backs than Knowshon, to have a senior QB lead a team like that, barring injuries, is almost a surefire shot at Atlanta. With the Mannings telling him to stay, and his fathers ties to a collegiate University's programs, Stafford chose money over unfinished business and almost "duty" to finish what he was recruited for.
I hope his first snap with the Lions he gets speared for a 10 yard sack and takes a few minutes to get up, why he ponders the mistake he just made.
Best wishes in the NFL Knowshon, show what UGA is about!
Moving on, Cox and Gray are more than capable doing exactly what D.J. Shockley has done, lead us to an SEC title. See you in Jacksonville 5-0 and ready for revenge Florida.
As a diehard UGA fan am I disappointed that Stafford won't return? Of course! But do I understand his decision? Of course! In a game where you can disappear forever in a single play I can't fault anybody for moving on to a league that pays you millions to take those risky hits. It's selfish to be pissed at him for leaving to bigger and better things. While he hasn't had the Bulldog-Spirit we saw in the magical Greene-Pollack era he has done great things for UGA. Him and Knowshon going onto the NFL, getting drafted high, and doing well will only reflect positively on UGA and help us with future recruiting. I wish them both well. In the short run I think it hurts us slightly at those positions but I think we'll recover in no time and find our next star player very shortly.
