16 first place votes for Utah, impressive. I watched the NC game with three of my college football friends so I didn't get to troll this thread with you guys. Some of our observations:

    - Fox has, without a doubt, the worst team of sports broadcasters ever assembled. Thom Brennaman, who I normally like as a baseball play-by-play guy, was obviously out of his element. He got the down and distance wrong several times, including the crucial goal-line stand by Florida in the second quarter. The bland color guy even went along with it, thinking it was 4th down on 3rd, and saying "you gotta go for this, get your big guys in there!" And the studio guys are just vanilla as fuck, Barry Switzer has never said anything interesting, ever. Last night actually made Jeanne Zelasko look professional.

Also, check out the last sentence under "Career" at Brennaman's lolwiki page. I would screenshot it but I'm at work right now and probably shouldn't be posting.

    - Because Florida ran the table after Ole Miss, we will be hearing that Goddamned Tebow sound byte for the rest of our lives. Yes, he's probably had one of the top ten college football careers of all time, but seriously stop the love affair. He doesn't walk on water or cure AIDS with his tears, he's a fullback with an very good arm. Get over it.

    - The ACC officiating crew just plain sucked. There were so many phantom flags, especially for personal fouls, and they missed the OU horsecollar (a rule I hate regardless) on the sideline in the second half. There's got to be a better crew outside the Big XII and SEC than this.

    - Sam Bradford is legit, he hits every receiver right on the numbers and has plenty of zip on the ball when he needs to. He's much better than Stafford (my friend's words, chill out Kirin) and if he leaves Norman he should go to the Lions at #1. Even his pics weren't totally his fault, UF defense just played their asses off, especially in the red zone. My friends were also raving about Jermaine Gresham, and I normally don't like first-round NFL TEs but I have to admit he looks like a stud.

I'm sure I'll think of more but those were the highlights.

    And my top 10:

    1. Florida
    2. USC
    3. Utah
    4. Texas
    5. Alabama
    6. Oklahoma
    7. Penn State
    8. Oregon
    9. TCU
    10. Ohio State

Yeah, I wonder. =P This year definitely does help the MWC though with how high UTah and TCU are ranked. If Boise moves over like someone previously mentioned, you'd have to put the MWC in the BCS automatic bids.

Also, watching Mike & Mike, and Greeny keeps bitching about "How can USC be #2 or get first place votes" and it's so fucking funny. Here's clearly weighing USC's schedule solely on how the Pac-10 seems to be weak, but he forgets that teams actually finished strong.

I'm fairly certain that Tebow's tears cure's AIDS and I've seen him, personally, walk on water twice. If he comes back next year...good luck lol. LSU will be better, Bama will be as good or better, but I don't know if any team will improve as much as Florida will if they come back.

I don't know if Bama will be as good next year really. They're losing basically the anchor of their Oline, along with their QB and (maybe) Coffey. It'd all depend on how much their defense can carry them I would say, but they've gotta basically bring in new skill position players all over the offense to stay where they are. They do definitely get Julio Jones back though, so I guess that's a plus

Dunno. Bama's going to be better. Julio Jones is gonna be better, they only had 9 Seniors this year, and they get to move up to a true pocket passer at QB most likely next year. The O-line will get better too. It won't be Andre Smith-level great like it was throughout this past year, but it'll still be good if Antoine Caldwell returns, and I'm pretty sure Coffee will come back. He wouldn't be a high enough draft pick if he went out this year.

Also, Tyche.. don't leave Ole Miss out. Snead is coming back too along with a lot of their offense.

I don't know who Saban is bringing in, but he'll have some great talent coming in. It's his second year, so his players should start to come out.

LOL @ Colin congratulating Florida on winning next year's championship. Not graduating a single defensive starter. Wow.

I'm gonna wait until the NFL draft to argue this one. If Coffee, Arenas, Cody, Mike Johnson and/or anyone else declares, it will impact their depth a lot. I'm actually least worried about Andre Smith leaving, 5-star recruit Tyler Love looks ready to take over left tackle and they probably landed another stud in this class named D.J. Fluker. As for Wilson, he was a very good game manager and fit the chemistry of the team well, so he'll be missed in that regard. But I'm confident Saban will figure out who the next guy will be, probably McElroy, whose tools are just as good as JPW.

Edit: @ Aki, Caldwell's a senior, so he's cooked. You might have been thinking about Johnson. But yeah the line will be fine I think, at least they have the talent to do what they did this year, if not better.

Yeah. That was it. Mike Johnson is the Junior LG, right?

Also, yeah. Coffee may not have a high NFL stock right now, but if he plays like he did this year for another year, he might move up to second round. Arenas should come back, because he's a better return man than he is a DB, so why go to the NFL when you won't go that high? Not sure on Cody. You'd think he'd want to stay another year, and try to graduate. Not to mention work on his skill more.

Tyler Love does indeed look good, and the RB recruit that Saban has... Richardson I believe? ESPNU has him at a 91 Overall, so put him in the backfield with Coffee, Ingram, and Upchurch, and they have another stable of running backs.

I'm sure McElroy will start, but I'm curious to see what they do with Star Jackson. I like McElroy more than JPW though, lol. McElroy actually has an arm, and JPW didn't really have a very strong one. Only problem with a new QB is obviously getting him worked in.

Not even paying attention to AU's class. :/ I'm sure it'll be garbage, and they don't even have a good QB coming in.

As far as Colin goes, I lol'd. Yeah, Florida's gonna be insane next year, and Alabama will probably see them in the SEC Championship again, seeing as Bama also has a lot of talent returning, and they too have a fairly easy schedule.

Correct, he filled in at LT in the Sugar Bowl, and was over-matched until he got hurt. But he was 2nd team all-SEC and has good mobility for a guard.

91 really? Rivals has Trent Richardson as 7th overall in the country. I guess I should diversify my recruiting website trolling, I tend to think Rivals or gtfo.

I wouldn't worry too much, you had a strong class last year. Plus a lot of these commitments are "soft verbals" which scares me a lot, I remember my friend hyping Anthony Morelli as the "quarterback to bring back Pitt football" and he ended up decomitting and going to Penn State lol.

Yeah. He was hurt really quick too.

ESPN 150 has him at #6. [ Trent Richardson Rankings, Grade, News, Stats - College Football Recruiting 2009 - ESPN ]

Yeah, I remember that, but a lot of these are solid verbals. I mean, I don't see any of them backing out unless something extreme happens, like in AU's case.

Also, another curioust hing. Rueben Randle (#10, and a top WR) along with Dre Kirkpatrick (#4, and a top CB) are also considering Alabama. IF Bama got both, that'd be 5 out of the Top 20 in the ESPNU Top 150. Even if they don't, that's still three in the Top 20.

The fact of the matter is that USC beat this Ohio State team pretty handily (and looking at the stats, on both sides of the ball, wasnt even close, and even if they were missing 4-5 D starters, USC held them to 3.....count it, 3 points), where Texas couldn't to that.

Come on, McCoy has 414 yards passing in a 3 POINT WIN over a dreadful Ohio State defense...can't tell me somethings not wrong with that.

Now, I dont see how that argument is a 'reach' at all

Now don't be too rash. Ohio State's defense isn't really dreadful. It's a great defense... in the Big Ten. Outside of the Big Ten, I'd say it's a pretty good defense, but speed kills it.

While McCoy had a huge like xbox day, the rest of the offense outside of Shipley and Crosby really didn't do very much.
