And as both Tyche and I have said, that game against Oklahoma wasn't the game of their life for the defense... it was the stout defense that they've played most of the year. Oklahoma is the team that played the game of their life on the defensive side, yet still lost. As they asked one of the guys last night, "If we told you that you'd hold Florida to 24 points, would you think you would have won?" -- he said yes. I think OU underestimated just how good Florida's defense was.

Also, Bradford was held well below his season average in passing yardage and such too. It's not like he went out and exploded for 400 yards and 3 TDs.

The only argument that it wasn't the game of their lives is the fact that it could easily have been 21-7 and been getting out of hand by halftime if not for some dumb playcalling and an extremely lucky bounce.

The 2nd half they played better than anyone, including themselves, had played all year. Period.

You can try to bullshit about how the SEC is just sooooo superior that it was just OU playing their best game ever but sucking so bad it doesn't matter against the great Godchild Tim Tebow. The fact of the matter is the Floida defense stepped up in the 2nd half, and a few things opened up for Tebow, courtesy of OU going into a "Prevent Percy Harvin" defense.

The SEC is superior defensively. I think that showed. OU wouldn't put up 60+ in 5 strait games there. I don't think Florida played "The game of a lifetime" on defense. They had a great defense and they played great defense.

A few different bounces and OU could be headed towards 60+ on Florida.

They had to step way up and they did in the end.

If you're honestly convinced after watching that game that Florida wins it more than 5-6 out of 10 times... just lol.

So you really think if OU goes into half up 21-7 with all the momentum in the world, Tebow comes out and carries Florida back from a deficit he's never faced?

A few different bounces and Georgia would have prevailed in Jacksonville. A few different bounces and Alabama would have been playing OU.

The end result is 5 Straight BCS losses for "Big Game Bob". TT lost to what is supposed to be an SEC bottomfeeder, and Florida topped the #1 team 2 times in one year.

Isnt this SEC vs Big XII argument done yet?

None of these arguments will be done until we stop seeing regular season games like OU vs Chattanooga and Florida vs Citadel and start seeing USC take big non conference games outside the Big 10 and Notre Dame.

Which won't be happening because of times like K-State smashing the invincible Carson Palmer into the ground holding him at 16/36 for sub 200 yards.

Georgia got the living shit kicked out of them in Jacksonville, and no, there were not huge plays determined by 10% raw talent, 10% dedication, and 80% pure luck in the Alabama game.

Florida lost to said "SEC bottomfeeder"...

Again, nope. Florida and Oklahoma was probably the most well matched game of the bowl season. If it ended any arguments, it was that USC or Penn State or even Bama ever deserved a shot.

You guys are acting like the Tech game proved they were better than Texas, or the TX/OU game proved Texas was vastly superior. Anyone would tell you how foolish that was, just like anyone without their head firmly planted up SEC ass would tell you how foolish this is.

To be fair Kstate is good every few decades or so. They had Bishop, Sproles, Quincy Morgan, lolLockett during that time though iirc.

I hate USC also but damn man, you're taking it back to the 90's and shit lol. inb4 Tyrone Wheatley, Tai Streets, Griese and Tim Biakabutuka were beasts and legends in Ann Arbor. (God I hate when Carolina drafted Biakabutuka -.-; )

I thought the trophy case defense for Cowboy fans were bad. Again the PAC 10 is a joke conference but USC would beat the brakes off of KSU in Manhattan, in winter all while spotting the Cats 21 points. Sorry broski, tis true.

Texas sucks also. Tech was overrated all year but it was fun watching people dribble all over their nuts as if they were a powerhouse.

Purdue > All tbh. Give us about 8 years, we will be back in this mofo.

Oh, and as far as Oregon, every good offense they played scored 40ish+, every good defense they played (all 2 of em) held em under 20. This will be a statement game imo. Huge statement indeed

Texas should also be a pretty serious ass beating, barring Colt being accused of rape by some Ohio State alum the day before the game. WOOSH

Edit cuz that was a little overly blunt:

I did not think OU was this good. But honestly, compare directly: do you think Florida's offense is that good? I don't think there's any question it's not. Maybe competitive on their very best day, but yeah, not like that.

Do you think Florida's defense can hold a Texas Tech to 14 points? Hell no. Oh no, they can do much better, they can hold OU to 14

OU just dominated a team that would probably be a very tough game for Florida in damn near identical fashion to the way Florida dominated.... The Citadel. Yeah. lulz

And, I actually really want to see a good big 12 team play USC, I'm not as impressed with USC's defense lately (it's still sick but not like I thought), and they're just not the ridiculous offense we're used to seeing out there.
I mean really, how can we take you serious. Actually, next CFB season, make football threads like I do. Picking opposite of you will make me soooooo much money. Step back and be objective. I think I was 7-0 in picking Big 12 games.

And there isn't a Big 12 school that would hold USC's jock.

Duel accepted. But only if we can have Kyle Orton or Drew Brees back and Joe Tiller coaching. Curtis Painter can gtfo my Boilermakers!

You should see the Blue chippers I pull in on Xbox, I always schedule my first 5 games or some vs the Big 12 and raep their rankings. Hey, we have to win somewhere.

    I was wrong about Tech.

Mizzou... looked like they didn't give a shit, and barely beat a far inferior team. Nice try there.

OSU was destroying Oregon, in statement fashion, until people started getting hurt.

If OU played like they did against Tech (i.e. keeping it balanced when the run game was working, not going retarded and thinking they're running well just because they can, people not dropping passes/handing off to defensive backs etc.), with the way Florida played in the first half the game never would've been even remotely close. OU played better against Tech than anybody else in college football has played a game this year, period. Barring maybe lolUtah's absolute drubbing of the big tough SEC bama boys with the last 3 quarters being in physical, smashmouth style.

Holding Tech to 14 is quite different from holding OU to 14... Tech's possessions, and hell defensive drives even lol, go fast. OU spent 2/3 of their time with the ball last night looking at the sidelines.

If you picked opposite me in bowl season, you'd have gone even money-- if you went by my "fuck you guys I'm going all out homer shit" picks.

And if no Big 12 team could "hold USC's jock," I guess that means they'd romp Florida too, considering what an intense game that was last night between Florida and the 2nd best big 12 team.

Nice job trying to take old statements that still aren't even that inaccurate and attempt to invalidate my credibility since you know you're wrong in the discussion right now.

You ask for Orton or Brees but not Alstott?

    Purdue fan my ass!

Oh, and, K-State was good once in the 60's, and never again until Snyder. But USC learned its lesson, they scheduled K-State when it was an "up and comer" winning 8 or 9 games a year, by the time they actually played they'd been in the running for championships and became the first team ever to beat Pete Carrol... and did it at USC. K-State finished 6-6 that year lol. Then they did it again the next year @K-State. Both teams finished 11-2, and guess who was ranked higher in the end?

I'm not even pointing out that game for any particular reason, just saying games like that can be huge disappointments and really screw up a season, and people aren't going to voluntarily schedule more than one of those a year, and are going to hesitate even more so to set them up against unfamiliar opponents. Hell, look what happened to K-State the opposite way, they scheduled Louisville when both teams were contenders only to be embarrassed by them when both teams are jokes.

Totally not fair, if we're doing fantasy teams, the only worthwhile guy i have to chose from in recent memory is Patrick Pinkney (And i know what your thinking, and its ok. Nobody else knows who he is either...)
