Fix'd because your post sounded way too familiar...

Bradford's inability (or unwillingness) to get short gains running instead of throwing the ball away 100% of the time when people aren't open in time actually hurt.

McCoy to Tebow running is a hard comparison to make, McCoy is reeeally fucking fast but Tebow is a lot stronger.

It's going to be incredibly hard to prevent Ohio State vs Florida unless one of them loses and somebody else doesn't.

Well, if Ohio State loses, like I mentioned before we could end up with legit big 12 south vs north undefeateds and sec undefeated vs 1 loss for a chance at the nc game.

Who in the Big 12 North will go undefeated? Just curious.

USC will be a tough out if Sanchez returns, but then again, USC blows one every year. They are losing some good players on defense, but I think they'll still be very stout on both sides of the ball. We'll know more after THE OSU vs USC game in the shoe next season.

They're still keeping Mays and whoever the eligible CB was on the defense. I've got a feeling Sanchez is gone though, going by that announcement Carroll made in the last couple days. He only named Taylor Mays, CJ Gable and Josh Pinkard in that announcement.

They are losing a ton of defense for sure. I know that much.

Not saying they will but Texas doesn't play Nebraska, and KU doesn't play Oklahoma, and neither of them plays Oklahoma State.

So basically if Nebraska can get through OU and KU, or KU can get through Texas and Nebraska, we could end up with a number of undefeated setups there.

    I.E. both undefeated:

    KU vs OU
    Nebraska vs Texas
KU or NU vs Oklahoma State.

Florida and Bama don't play, for some reason I was thinking they do, so they could end up undefeated and playing, but Florida does play @LSU.

In the Big 10, Penn State doesn't play Wisconsin, and Ohio State doesn't play Michigan State.

I think something that might finally force a playoff is if some year the Big 10 ends up with two undefeated teams and no other major conference has one, meaning the NCG ends up being undefeated Wisconsin vs. undefeated Penn State, while 1-loss Florida, USC and Texas sit on the outside. The Big 10 is the only conference where this is possible, as every other conference has either a true round robin or a conference championship game. Were this to happen, the other five conference commissioners might finally stand up and do something about it.

I'm actually kind of rooting for this, as it just might cause change.

Colin is about to break Sanchez coming back to USC...I think. He's stalling, asshole.

Seems to have broke that Sam Bradford is staying. He just said a very high ranking NFL guy told him (Bradford) to stay. I wouldn't wager my house on it, but it is what it is. Bradford likely to stay.

it seems like the only big losses are coming on the defensive lines there, aside from TT's offense of this year and I think a standout safety from Missouri? We might just end up seeing a repeat of this past year in '09

I think the only chance the Big12 has at getting back to the chamionship would be in Texas. OU, in my opinion, will not get the nod over just about any other team with the same record from a major conference. I know it depends on "unbiased" BCS computer polls, but I can't fathom them getting the nod with 1 loss over a 1 loss Ohio State, USC, Penn State, Texas, or whatever team comes out with the same record. They've had enough chances, give someone else a damn shot.

    Preseason prediction:

Florida vs USC (if Sanchez comes back)

I saw that Gerald McCoy is also coming back to OU. What the crap is with all these projected first-round picks staying in school?

Also wondering who the next "great" Texas Tech QB to throw for 5000 yards will be.

You forget OU is the perennial cocksuck-ee of the big 12. If this year didn't show it, I dunno what could, but all other things equal OU goes.

Ohio State and USC play-- after that Ohio State's schedule is terrible until Iowa and Penn St. So, for Ohio State to go with 1 loss, pretty much USC has to play amazing and beat them in an extremely close game, then somehow end up with 2 losses (someone from the SEC is going...), while Iowa and Penn St. play extremely well.

USC... might get the nod. It depends on Bradford. If he continues to look scared in big games, 1 loss USC will probably pull ahead. If he does everything in his power to win a game but it somehow slips away, or misses a game for some reason and plays at his best the rest of the year, OU will go.

It's weird. Like... basically, on paper at least, you have to believe that the winner of Texas/OU is going to go undefeated with Bradford and McCoy both in the picture.

But, OU is losing a fair bit of O-line and receiving talent, however they do have a pretty young defense, and people choosing to stay.

Nebraska played awfully well at the end of the year, and Pelini has made serious strides fast everywhere he's gone. I know you SEC guys have to respect him.

Then there's KU, who honestly may have played the best of all the big 12 teams in their last couple of games. We'll have to see how their defense holds up, but their offense, and I'm not making any ridiculous comparisons here, just saying in build, is similar to what the Patriots went so crazy with-- accurate QB with the ability to take over games, top notch #1 wideout that's a ridiculous deep threat, quick white guy with a ton of heart running short routes taking pressure off the qb and opening up the deep guy, and a running game that works when they need it to, as well as a smooth little screen game.

This is also far and away the best Oklahoma State has looked coming into a season in like 20 years. Again, their balance will be hard to defend, and when their offense is staying on the field, they may be the best defense in the big 12.

I'd say, oddly enough, it's all going to come down to the defenses. That's obviously going to be the primary offseason focus, and rather or not anybody can get through undefeated, or look good enough to get in with 1 loss, is going to come down to who can hold at least a couple of those teams to 20ish or less while going 0-1 loss without giving up a ton of points in a loss.
