Thanks alot, even it didnt help me cuz Megaupload sux for me T_T i download from normal web at 200-400 and on megaupload 10-20kb/s max

Drag-and-drop them into the target folder if that's easier to get them where they need to be.

If you are using the NA version, the default path is C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\

You can extract the .zip to a temporary folder and manually drag the files into the correct folder. If it doesn't ask you if you need to overwrite files, then you probably are extracting it into the wrong place.

After I dragged the files over into the FFXI folder and went to check my files on POL for FFXI, for some reason it said there was problems with 16 files. So I went to Repair File and now I'm stuck at 1% with 18/18 files remaining.

I should have just updated the normal way. ._.

Didn't work for me. I dragged the files to my FFXI folder and it went to do a file check anyways then said it couldn't do it becaue I need 425 MB of free space on my HDD (its a partitioned drive so only 300 or so MB left on that partition)

These were the files that got corrupted for some reason. Any advice would be nice.

I seem to have similar problems.

Downloaded no problem, extracted to the FFXI folder, was asked to replace, yes to all, open up POL to be asked to Update FFXI <_> Wussuh Goin Ohn?

The files, compressed, are about 150MB. But, uncompressed, they are about 450MB. You'll need at least that much free space to put them on your drive correctly.

I changed the temporary files placement for my winrar to my D drive and moved each of the folders one by one and it worked, thanks.

It won't download the files, it'll skip the process and cut down the time ~3 hours.

downloaded, dragged and dropped in, asked to do a file check, then asked to download 13 files, updated 13 as opposed to 1677 and now I'm playing, 15 minute updated > 4 hour update ; ;

Most, if not all of those files, were in the *.zip file that was posted. Make sure that the *.zip didn't get corrupt somehow. Drag-and-drop the files again with POL shutdown. Re-attempt the FFXI update as normal. If you are using this method, DO NOT USE file check to apply this manual update. It will only complain about corrupt files if your using POL's file check. If you are updating normally, it won't list corrupt files at all, it should just attempt to re-download them after checking.

If many people are having problems figuring out how exactly how to apply this update, I could compile a setup program that places the files correctly.
