Anyone know if the quest stays active if you DC?
Anyone know if the quest stays active if you DC?
it probably should
Didn't one of the dev things say that you would be able to get some gear through FoV? (not caskets)
edit: Qufim book is at zone to tower, I'm stupd
At 41 Sam/DNC did qufim page 5 was rated til 36 got 770 xp 770 gil 77 taps not bad for how easy it was.
5 leeches
4 Gigas
1 Pugil
Am I the only one seeing this as going the way of Pankration soon enough? I wouldn't even call it an incentive to solo more, at this point. Its really only useful for killing time. It doesn't increase solo xp/hr to any noticeable extent, nor does it produce any useful special items that we have heard of yet. I hate to be the party pooper, but its just a novelty event unfortunately, and it seems like every time Squeenix adds things like this, they are a big hype for 2-3 days, then quickly forgotten as mostly useless.
This exactly.
With the easy prey restriction and the zones it's currently in, this is not a time killer for high level players. And the gil/exp rewards for some of the higher ranged areas need to be upped to make them worthwhile.
They also need to recalculate the recommended levels, or list a party size for some of the exercises. A number of them are NOT meant for solo players in the level range they give. A 38 WAR friend of mine was having trouble with the (9 Tiger / 2 Gob) in beaucedine even with some pl support, and 38 was at the top of its recommendation.
Well, I think the basic idea was that Campaign would satisfy solo-play needs for higher levels, while this would be for lower levels.
That's not to say that it doesn't need a lot of tweaks, though.
Xarcabard, PLD45
Page 1: 8 Skeletons, 3 Etemmu 900 xp/900 gil/90 tabs
Page 2: 8 Skeletons, 4 Weapons 950 xp/950 gil/95 tabs
Took a while soloing because everyone and their mothers were killing stuff, xp is decent and with the Signet acc/eva bonus mobs go down easily... Yet Xarcabard sucks because of links (and elementals are IT to a level 45).
Page 1 was completed in a party: we started synced to 45, then switched midway to sync 60, where xp from killings dropped to crap the reward at the end was the same.
They should give a bigger xp reward the first time you do each real life day. 2000xp first time, then 500-1000 every hours after. It would be a good way for casual player to level up, and prevent abuse from people who want to spam it.
I was doing Xarc FOV Page 5, 5 demons, 5 gigas, 3 eyes. 1100 xp. Pop XP ring, get around 100(+/-)xp a kill on SAM 53, and eventually solo to 54. Was alot of fun.
I'm probably going to have more fun with this then MMM. But that holds no value until they finish QA on it. I thought we was the Alpha/Beta testers? Or we being woosh'd by SE?
No
I can't think of a single valid comparison one could make between pankration and FoV. It's not a randomly stupid side event like choco racing or pankration. It's more like campaign for newbs. And what big hype? It's useful for leveling a low level job solo/duo/trio. That's all it is, I've not seen it advertised as anything else, so what is it you expect from it? You think it was gonna boost dunes xp to be comparable to colibri meripo? People that use this are already killing the mobs in the zone, why wouldn't they click on the thing and get an extra 400-1000 xp, gil and tabs for doing what they were already doing?
I expect a little better of an xp reward, and maybe some decent items that you can only get by doing it. When in the time it takes me to walk back to the Field manual to start a new mission, I can solo the same amount of xp that I would get as a reward, I hardly call it worth it. I might as well just stay out and solo grind. All it does is try stave off the boredom of soloing, and poorly at that. So it helps out the people that can't spend more than an hour or two at a time in game xping. Fine, I get that. But beyond that it serves no real purpose for the mainstream gamers that play. Perhaps if there were an actual benefit and incentive to do it over simply soloing, I might see some marginal use to it, bot for now its just another useless, poorly planned event that will quickly lose its appeal to the bulk of the player base.
And before you use the argument, "If you don't like it then don't use it", my response is, "I don't intend to".

I still dont get how getting exrta EXP is lame? I'm not on SE's ballsack, but I dont see how this can suck.

^--------------Theres the point, I think you may have missed it the first go 'round. The system isnt substituting soloing, cripe you can only do it once per Vana'diel day and it takes all of 10-15 minutes. The reward is far more than just the XP you get. It gives gil(invaluable to a struggling early game player), and tab buffs(makes your soloing a lot better than using for-pay meds). This system alone does a lot for solo/duo/trio, and couple that with the addition of treasure caskets and the recent raising of EP experience, and you can tell it was all planned out and calculated TO appeal to the bulk of the playerbase that isnt thinking to itself MERIT MERIT MERIT PHAT LOOT MERIT MERIT MERIT 24/7.(Not that there's anything wrong with that, its just not the direction this thing is aimed.)
